He was having a hard time tailing Stacy and her man.
The four heavy-weighted bodyguards may be a distant away from them but they were very keen. Their eyes were not only affixed to them but they were also inspecting the surroundings. That's why Clint has to be cautious enough not to be seen.
In his condition right now, it would be impossible for him to eavesdrop since he needs to stay a little farther from them. but he was able to notice the woman's strange behavior. She kept glancing at the bodyguard's location discreetly. It's as if she was planning to run away from them.
Wait, is she preparing to escape? But why? Clint was in deep thought.
After few more minutes, Clint saw them stood up so he waited until they exited the place before he followed them. He doesn't need to bring his car along since they were heading to the public park a few meters away but he made sure to keep his gun with him.
He blended with the crowds just so the men won't detect him. then he spotted a group of performers nearing Stacy and the guy. The two love birds where sitting on the other side of the bench while the bodyguards were looking at them on the opposite side.
The performers seem to be dancing live since there are cameras everywhere. Then they pulled Stacy and Johnny in the middle so they could join them. the bodyguards tried to go near them but they had a hard time because of the number of people gathered around the performers. At first, the two love birds are still visible in the eyes but after some time, they vanished.
Then a car was seen driving away from the park. It looks like Stacy and Johnny had planned all those scenarios since the men lost them totally. One of the bodyguards went to get their car that was parked outside the restaurant and Clint went to get his as well and followed the men.
Meanwhile, the gallery was filled with visitors who was busy looking at the painting displays. Ethan was among the onlookers when Flynn came close to him.
"Thank you Mr. Williams for coming. I hope you are enjoying the night." Flynn was smiling from ear to ear.
"I am Mr. Sympson. Thanks for inviting." Ethan replied with a smile.
"It's my pleasure to have you Mr. Williams. By the way, where's your wife?" he got curious. He was actually planning to include Ethan's wife on his plans.
"Ah, she's a bit busy right now." he beamed.
"Oh I see. Too bad, I believe she'll enjoy the night if she came with you." Ethan didn't see the disgust in Flynn's face since it only flashed a second when Ethan diverted his gaze.
"I bet she will." He answered while looking at Rio who seems to be battling with his inner man. he smirked.
"Ah, I remembered, I'm supposed to give you something. would you mind to wait for me on that third table?" Flynn pointed out the table on the right side. "I'll be back in a second."
"Oh sure." Then Ethan strides to the table that Flynn point at. Unknown to Ethan, Flynn left with a devilish smile all over his face.
Meanwhile, Demetrius saw Sherry standing alone looking at a particular painting on the wall. Where is Silver? Rio tried to search everywhere but he can't spot him anywhere inside so he decided to approach the lone woman.
"I wonder what's with the painting that took your attention?" Sherry heard a manly voice who was now standing beside her.
"Mr. Mikasa!" she exclaimed with a smile.
"Are you that surprise to see me?" he partly grinned.
"Oh, sorry about that. I got lost at this beautiful painting." Then once again, she stared at the painting like it is a rare gem.
Demetrius looked at it. it was entitled "Finally home". a simple house that was situated in the middle of a mountain with two children leaning against each other under a shaded tree.
"Ehm, it's beautiful." He approved.
"Mr. Mikasa, have you ever loved someone with all your heart?" Rio jerked when he heard the woman asked.
"Ehm, yes." he mumbles.
"Ah, she's so lucky." She smiled still gazing at the paintings. "So how exactly did you show your love to her?" Sherry doesn't even know why she suddenly asked that out of nowhere. Maybe, she just want to initiate a conversation.
Demetrius lowered his head then he smiled painfully. Is she serious right now? how could she asked such a thing? But Rio opened his mouth unknowingly.
"I loved her so much that I had to let her go." Rio mumbled softly. Sherry didn't anticipate his answer so she looked at him. she can't explain why she suddenly felt a sting in her heart. The sorrow of this man caused sadness in her heart but she doesn't know the reason why.
"I'm sorry. Did I ruin the moment?" Rio chuckled. "I'll just get some drinks." He was walking towards the drink counter when he heard an explosion.
"BOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!"
His eyes widened as he spun around. Sherry was now lying on the floor unconscious; blood was oozing from her head.
"Sherry!" he shouted dropping the cup of wine in his hands. Fire started to spread out and the remaining unharmed people were running outside the building.
Fear engulfed Demetrius body when he saw Sherry lying on the floor. he tried to go near her but the crowds were pushing him back. But still, he tried to get near her before the fire consume the whole place.
"Sherry, sherry, wake up!" he tried to search for her pulse. "Sherry!"' he tried to perform a quick first aid on her head wound.
"R-i-o…???" Sherry uttered weakly trying to open her eyes. "M-my pumpkin…? is that really you?" her voice was frail and cracking. Demetrius was taken aback. Wait! did she just mention pumpkin? Did she remember him now? then he felt Sherry's hand in his cheek. "I-it's really you." a tear escaped from her eyes with a regretful smile. "I-I'm s-sorry, m-my p-pumpkin…"
Then once again, Sherry lost her consciousness completely.
"Sherry! Please stay with me." Rio didn't notice the tears flowing from his eyes. then he scoops the woman in his hands and run towards the exit. People were flocking everywhere not knowing what to do. although Rio heard the serene of the ambulance, he chose to drive Sherry to the hospital at once.
Meanwhile, Silver has been looking all around the place trying to look for Sherry but he didn't find her. Likewise, Flynn run outside the building along with the people. he pretended to run for his life when the explosion happened but the truth is he was in his office waiting for the explosion to happen. he was laughing victoriously within when he thought of Ethan, if not dead then he must have suffered a grave injury from the explosion since it was set up under his table.
However, his victorious smile faded in an instant when he saw an alive, alert and unscratched Ethan who was standing outside looking at the building that was on fire.
"Ethan?!" his eyes widened in horror. But why?! he unconsciously balled his fist in anger and in dismay. What happened? He thought.
