Chapter 42 – Prisoners
"Where are the prisoners?" Ding Sha asks slowly in a deep voice.
"They….They are deeper in the base. Just keep going forward from here and take the right path at the split. You will find a stairway leading down that is guarded, the prisoners are there." The guard nervously answers as Ding Sha's sabre cuts into his neck, causing him to bleed and realise that Ding Sha was not joking about killing him.
Once the guard finish telling us what want, Ding Sha smacks the guard on the back of his neck before he can say anything else, causing the guard to faint immediately. "Let's go." Ding Sha says as he lays the guard on the ground.
Mo Di nods and starts leading the way. Following the instructions that the guard told us, we soon reach the gate with two guards standing in attention. "Do we kill these two guards?" Mo Di asks softly.
"No…We already know they are not bandits but just soldiers carrying out their orders, we shouldn't kill them." Judge Cui answers.
Zhao Keng then looks at Liu Kang and asks "Can you do it?" His Dragon Fist is the best technique we have in our arsenal to knock these two guards out. The <Dragon Fist> technique is not a technique that is made to kill but to defend and has explosive power to blow enemies away.
Of course, the technique is able to kill, just like any other technique but unless the practitioner is fighting someone much weaker than him or intends to kill the person by targeting vital areas, the <Dragon Fist> technique has no killing attack at all.
"Yes. I can do it." Liu Kang replies and then he gets into a fight stance and he executes Instant Blink to appear at the side of the left guard and performs a powerful <Dragon Tail> attack on the guard. The guard immediately flies to his right and knocks into the guard at the right side of the gate. The guard has already lost consciousness from the Dragon Tail attack and Liu Kang dashes towards the other guard and gives him a right hook, causing the other guard to fall unconscious as well.
Mo Di then quick;y moves towards the gate and check it for traps. He then moves over to the two guards piled up on the right side of the door and searches their bodies. Soon he finds the key to the gate on the guard's body and returns to the gate to unlock it.
*Clink*
The gate is opened and we slowly head down the stairs that lead to the area where the prisoners are held.

After walking for a few minutes, we finally reach the prison cells. There are numerous prisoners here and it is then I get a massive amount of beeps in my mind.
[Beep!]
[Host, A new wish has been obtained!]

(STOP! STOP! Compile them together!) I shout at the system in my mind.
[Beep!]
[Host, three hundred and sixty two new wishes has been obtained!]
(System, are their wishes all the same? Why did you beep me so many times?!)

[I did not compile the wishes because their wishes are different. Majority of the wishes are "I want to escape!" or "Save me!" but some of the wishes are different. For example, several have "Feed me food and water!" or "Kill me!" or "Kill the bandits for me!"]
"So…many villagers…how are we supposed to escape with them?" Mo Di utters in shock before I could finish my conversation with the system.
"Well we have two villages worth of people so I guess we should have expected this." Judge Tang says softly.
"If we try to leave with this many people, we will be found by the guard post at the entrance for sure. There is also a high chance of being discovered." I inform the group.
The villagers notice us at this point and start shouting at us for help.
"You? You're not with the bandits. Please rescue us! We are innocent villagers kidnapped by the bandits for no reason! They kept us all here!"
They start shouting at us but before they could make a commotion, Mo Di bangs on one of the steel bars and says "Shut up if you don't want to die. We are here to rescue you, we are just thinking about how to rescue you right now."
"Let's just bring them all out and fight our way out." Liu Kang suggests.
Everyone's head snaps toward Liu Kang's direction immediately. He was the last person we expected to hear that from. "Do you know that we will be fighting against the army?" Zhao Keng asks in surprise.
"Yes. It is the only way to get everyone out. Besides the army does not want to keep these villagers so they will not fight back too strongly." Liu Kang says stubbornly and he has a point.
"Let's bring them all to Yao Feng town. They cannot return to their villages anymore." I suggest.
"Yes, that's a good idea but we can't bring them there without exposing our identities. We should just get them out of this cave and point them towards Yao Feng town." Sima Di suggests.
Everyone agrees with Sima Di's suggestion and we have a plan. Before we open the prison cells and let the villagers out, Mo Di says to keep quiet and come out in a line. If anyone makes any noise, we will beat that person. After making sure they all understood what he said, Mo Di used the keys we got from the guards and opened the prison doors.
The villagers slowly exit the cell one by one with excited smiles on their faces but do not cause too much noise during the process.
Soon, everyone is out of the cells and Mo Di returns to the front and start to lead us out of the cave. As we ascend the stairs, he takes a look to see if anyone passed by and spotted the unconscious guards but everything was still fine, so we continued moving forward.
About 20 minutes later, we reach the place where we knocked the guard out and there was a group around him. It looks like they just found the guard. Mo Di looks at us with a stern look and immediately draws his bow with the vine arrow I created. This arrow is not meant to kill but meant to disable or entangle our enemies.
*Phewww*
He fires once he fully extends the bow and the sound of the arrow cutting through the air draws the attention of the guards.
"You! The prisoners!" one of the guards shouts immediately after seeing us. Everyone immediately springs into action once Mo Di arrow is fired.
Ding Sha is using the reverse side of his sabre and Zhao Keng is using the other end of his spear. Almost everyone is using the blunt side of their weapon so we do not kill the soldiers at this point.
The vine arrows work pretty well as a distraction and entangle the fifteen soldiers that are surrounding the unconscious guard. Liu Kang is the first to reach them and starts punching crazily while Zhao Keng reaches next and starts stabbing at people's head with the blunt end of the spear, knocking some of the guards out. Once I reach the guards with instant blink, I immediately start executing Drill punch with a minimum amount of qi.
