Chapter 109 (Snow Ice Halberd)

Heaven, please don’t joke with me like this.

The ice path was unexpectedly cut off halfway in the middle, and there was no more path ahead, only a smooth ice wall. I looked far in the distance, the path was really cut off just like that. The rupture to the other side was about 50 meters long, and far off in the distance, there was a huge shadow. I didn’t know whether it was the Yeti King or not. Even if it was the Yeti King, it was basically impossible to get to the other side. I wasn’t an angel nor a birdman. There wouldn’t be any wings growing out of me.

I looked down. There was another spiral ice path not too far away, only about 30 meters. The ice path below was also quite wide, roughly around 10 meters in width. After making some visual assessment for a moment, with my operating skill, it was possible to jump down. My only concern was that down there was densely packed with monsters. I wasn’t sure whether or not I could survive.

After thinking for a few minutes, I decided to take a jump. Since I already came here, I would just proceed carefully.

Adjusting the distance and angle, I held tightly some Phosphor Powder in my hands…

“1,”

“2,”

“3,”

Jump! In the midair, I quickly spread out the Phosphor Powder and at the same time activated the enhance stealth skill. My figure gradually faded away until I completely disappeared during my fall.

YES, it was a success. The enhanced stealth could be activated during jumping.

“Boom~.”

I fell heavily on the ice. At the same time, the system prompted: You suffered from a dramatic impact. Health loss 234 points and stunned for 3 seconds.

Crap, I had landed head first.

Since I was moving stealthily, only the monsters within three yards of me would notice and attack me. I looked around and saw that there were relatively fewer monsters near the wall behind me. Thus, I quickly retreated while luring a group of monsters with me.

Whilst drinking health potion, I randomly hacked the monsters around. Five minutes later, I finally killed all the monsters surrounding me. I got a drop of a level 35 green Mage cloak. At the moment, no one could use it, so I saved it for later on to sell.

There were still a lot of monsters around. To the left was the way back, and to the right, the path was leading downward. Perhaps that’s where the Snow Queen resided. Just before, from the other side, I saw a huge figure over here. Most likely, it should be the Yeti King. It would be better to kill the monsters while heading back, and later on, I could just come back and explore the path ahead. The experience gained from the monsters wasn’t small either, and the equipment’s drop rate was far higher than from the monsters out there in the wild.

It didn’t look like a long distance, but killing at the way back was really time-consuming. There were just too many monsters. On almost every step I moved, I would step onto a monster’s corpse. My Experience bar also went up like crazy, the situation was really encouraging. If I had a physical AOE attack skill, it would be an experience feast.

After a full hour of non-stop monster killing, I finally cleared the path on this layer. The monsters in front of me were gradually becoming fewer. I could even now see the appearance of the BOSS in front of me. Impressively, it was the level 45 Yeti King BOSS. Its body was extremely huge, almost double the size of a Yeti. Moreover, it had four arms, from which I think would throw snowballs even more violently.

Beyond my expectation, the Yeti King had already noticed me even before I got near it and threw a basketball-sized snowball at me.

“214.”

It was really painful. I quickly dashed forward and immediately unleashed the Frozen Blade. Then I turned around to kill two small monsters so I could focus my attacks on the Yeti King. Fortunately, although the Yeti King’s Attack was high, but it had a low attack rate. By drinking three health potions every minute and with my Health Recovery rate, I could just barely keep continuing to fight.

Having low Defense and Health seemed to be the problem for all monsters in this Land of IceWind, and the Yeti King was no exception. Even against this level 45 BOSS, my sword could cause 1,000 damage points with every hit. This was something that I would have never expected. In [Moon Monochrome], the Attack Speed depended on the players Agility and a formula set by the system. A player with a Thief as his/her Class would by system default have an Attack Speed 1.5 times of the other Classes. And after a Thief put some points into its Agility attribute, it will gain another Agility points/1000 Attack Speed multiplier. That was to say that if the Thief had 1,000 points of Agility, then its Attack Speed would be 2.5 times the other players. However, the effect of Agility of a Swordsman wasn’t as big as the Thief. On average, every 2,000 points of Agility would double the Attack Speed.

I currently had 200 points of Agility. That was to say that my Attack Speed was 1.1 fold compared to a white-clothed player. Although it wasn’t very high, but I could clearly feel the difference. I was chopping down the Yeti King’s Health, which was less than 100,000 as if cutting a melon or vegetables. Five minutes later, this mighty looking small BOSS obediently fell down.

I was somewhat surprised seeing this Yeti King being so weak and vulnerable. So I also didn’t put too much hope in the dropped equipment. I looked down and only saw one long translucent spear lying on the ground. Beside it, there was a pile of a considerable number of gold coins.

I quickly stored everything in the inventory and then pulled out a small dagger to dig out the Yeti King’s heart. The scene wasn’t bloody at all, perhaps the game developer had put the public concern into consideration. I only put the dagger into the Yeti King’s chest a few times, and a bright red heart appeared in my inventory.

There was a total of nearly 100 gold coins, and I hadn’t looked at the spear properties.

[Snow Ice Halberd] (Weapon, Blue Equipment)

Attack: 185-270

Strength: +24

Stamina: +32

Agility: +18

Extra: Attacks have a 10% chance to affect the opponent with the power of ice, reducing attack speed by 50% for 15 seconds.

Required Level: 36

A weapon with high Attack and effects that also only had a low level requirement. Two more days, it’s possible to sell for a very high price.

Now, the Yeti King’s heart had been acquired, but I didn’t know how to get back. It was easy to descend down, but difficult to go up. It seemed that to complete the mission, I could only wait until the next time when I came through the entrance again.

I checked the equipment’s durability, still half remaining. It was still two hours before dinner. If I returned back to the city now, there wasn’t anything else to do either. It would be better to stay here and continue killing monsters for the experience and money.

Having made up my mind, after I arranged the potions and other items in the inventory, I proceeded to move downward.

Two hours later, I was already dizzy from killing monsters. Fortunately, the drop rate of the monsters here wasn’t low. During this two hours, I got two green equipment and more than ten pieces of white equipment. Selling those all should be sufficient to cover the living cost.
