Before summer ends Lily He sent an invite to a private resort owned by an acquaintance. She was even kind enough to say "You can invite whoever you want, it's on me."

I immediately thought of Heather so I sent her an invitation even extending to her younger brother and she accepted it with gusto. The planned trip is for three days and two nights. I was so excited I practically went mall hopping after work ended.

We met at the airport at the given time and boarded a private jet. It was no surprise to see Luke as he's also one of Lily's friends but Liam is with us including the model. Heather brought along Aster, her younger brother and we introduced ourselves to each other for Gerbera's sake (the model).

"Hello, I am Lily, the one who organized this trip."

"Luke, we met before."

"Iris Lin"

"Heather Wei, you don't need to be formal with me"

"Aster Wei, Heather's brother. Pleased to meet you all."

"The name's Gerbera. Gerbera Qin, Liam's girlfriend."

It took more than an hour for us to land and from the private jet, you can see the cerulean sky and turquoise sea merge.

The place is located on a small island. It has a powdery white-sand beach that stretches the full 6.5-kilometer perimeter of the Island, enclosing an unspoiled tropical wilderness. A pristine coral reef awaits exploration just offshore as they told.

A male in his late 30's welcomed our group, he is said to be the owner of the resort. Lily took the initiative to introduce us to him and after a few exchanges, we were guided to our own rooms. Lily stayed with the guy for a little while.

Rather than the hotel-like accommodations, they offer you villas and small houses to own for your stay. You choose your pick.

I picked one small house in a beach-front. It was loosely modeled after native dwellings with an open-plan, twin-roofed design with direct access to the shoreline via the sandy footpath. It looked at least 700 square meters in size with wooden sundecks and beach-side hammocks for private lounging.

At first, Heather wanted to own a villa that can house both of the siblings but was rejected by Aster claiming he was already big to share a place with her sister. Well, Aster is indeed big, a little taller than Lily and is already sixteen. A teenager acting like an adult. In the end, Heather chose one small house with a treetop view. Size same as mine but it includes a private wooden sundeck and a swimming pool. The good thing about our place is that we use the same walkway. Her house is a little uphill just past mine.

As promised, our group would meet at the Clubhouse restaurant after settling our things. There were also other customers like us who went for a summer getaway, most of them are couples.

The resort has its own organic garden where you can pick ingredients for your food and request the chefs to make into a dish. But as we just arrived, we opted to choose from their listed menu.

It was good that this body doesn't have allergy in any of the foods I like. The locally caught seafood in the table is all fresh and savory.

"Where would you guys want to go? Iris?" Lily opened up the conversation after eating.

They all turned their attention to me at the sudden mention of my name. "Anywhere's fine with me, to be honest," I confessed. Just now, my mind was only thinking about food and got no plan to follow.

"Since we just came, how about some sight-seeing? A little walk can help us digest the food we just ate." Luke suggested after my bland reply.

"But the place is large, how about we split?" Liam who had been silent for a while spoke.

"Fine by us." Heather cast a glance at Aster then continued, "But how do we split into teams?" She looked at us then said, "There's seven of us."

"We can do pairs," Lily said giving a look at the couple. "then one group can have three people, I'm sure that's fun."

I think all of us admit to having that idea; that the couple might really want some time alone.

"Or a group of two? one group four-person, the other three for another group?" Luke interrupted.

"Shall we vote?" I asked them so we can move on. They agreed and selected a group of two. The next problem was the division. Each has their own idea but what I wanted to do is to avoid being with the couple. I don't want to be the third wheeler.

"You don't really need to mind us," Liam said after the repeated discussion.

"That's true. If you'd like we can split all girls versus all boys." Gerbera shared her opinion.

"But it's best if there is a guy mixed on the group. Although this resort is well maintained and has their own security, we just can't be lax in our guard." Luke interjected.

"Then let us" Lily pointed at me and Luke "let us be in one group, the rest will be on another group. What do you think?"

The rest she was talking about are the siblings and Heather doesn't share her idea.

"Why not just let Iris comes with us brother and sister then the rest of you go on?"

"That's fine, I guess," Lily responded with no little thought as her eyes forming a crescent.

"That's---" Which would you prefer, Iris?" Luke asked me. They were all waiting for my answer.

'I don't care which is which' I honestly wanted to tell them.

"How about you guys decide?" I turned to the couple, after all, they are the ones we're most concerned, well, I am.

"Like we said, we're fine with whatever you guy's decision." Liam sighed helplessly.

With his answer, we were back to square one.

"If you guys can't settle the groupings now, we won't get to see much." Aster declared. It was true, while we were talking, the sun was about to set.

At long last, we decided to go by using a rock-paper-scissors game. The first group consists of me, Heather, Aster, and Lily while Liam and Gerbera shall be accompanied by Luke.
