"I think it's time for you to meet some of the great geniuses your age in this continent," the Purple Mist Sect Master said.

Qai was taken aback by the words of Emperor Void as if to show that he got even more bewildered with the the statements. The emperor, on the other hand, noticed Qai's reaction so he tried to simplify what he meant.

"Like I said," the Sect Master said with a slight smile, "I am considering you different.. different from many of the young cultivators I know.. but I think you should see for yourself how would you gauge your abilities yourself among the geniuses in this continent."

What the sect master meant was that Qai was one of a kind—his giftedness was somewhat not in the same breath of those so-called 'genius.'

In the cultivation world, the 'geniuses' were measured from youth in terms of cultivation level which included cultivation speed, strength, and skills. Qai, on the other hand, cannot be singled out and be called 'genius' in such standards, but his wits and smarts regarding his choice of skills and fighting style was—in the emperor's mind—definitely way above other cultivators his age.

And that was what interested the Purple Mist Sect Master. Qai was basically 'different.'

The actual invitation of Emperor Void was to get Qai join the delegation that the sect would send in the gathering and nothing more.

Qai, thus, would not be listed as member of the team that would participate in the tournament. But even if that would be the case, he would still be going there under the banner of the sect—so in a way, he would still represent the sect.

However, after few more persuasions, the Sect Master started to make another proposal. And that surprised Qai all the more.

"One more thing, young 'friend'," the Emperor Void said.

Qai, whose mind was still imagining about how the other regions would look, was again taken aback. But this time, he was more anticipating than earlier as to what the emperor would say.

"I actually have something to give to you," the Sect Master said.

"Eh."

The Emperor Void, then, showed Qai a pendant. He raised it in front of Qai's glowing eyes without saying a word and tried to observe the young cultivator before he handed over the prized item.

"Esteemed Emperor..," Qai stammeringly said after receiving the pendant—as he was obviously clueless of the treasure. "..what is this thing?"

"Ha ha.. the emperor quickly replied with a chuckle. "That is what you call 'Chui Shi,' my 'friend'."

The Sect Master, then, briefly explained its uses and how the sect got a hand on it and how were it able to reproduce the pendant.

Qai instantly remembered the time he had with the sect disciples back in the 'Soaring Sky Palace' inside the Desolate Wasteland.

"You mean..," Qai politely asked in excitement, "this is what was inside the mysterious box!?"

"Indeed," the Sect Master. "But it's just a copy."

"Ah."

"We were able to reproduce the treasure after long and strenuous research," the emperor explained.

Qai enthusiastically inspected the pendant and tried to take a peek into it to see if it really was a spatial item. His eyes glowed even more as his mind started to fly and thought of his contracted and domesticated demonic beasts.

"Right now," said the Sect Master, "you're the only person I know who may actually discover its other uses since we have no one in the sect to test it."

The emperor also explained that the sect did not have the luxury to ask anybody else since they could not nonchalantly divulge its existence to anyone outside the sect this early—so the emperor could only choose somebody he could trust.

"This pendant fits your skills," the Sect Master went on, "and I know that I can rely on you."

Qai smiled and faced the Emperor Void.

"Then I shall shamelessly accept your gift, Esteemed Emperor," he said with a grin.

And before the two parted their ways, the emperor gave few more words.

"Oh," " the Sect Master said with a smile, "before I forget.. remember to tell me what you would be able to learn from that pendant."

Qai simply nodded in reply.

"Who knows!?" the emperor quickly added. "I might opt to equip myself a 'Beast Taming' skill one day."

"Eh."

*****************

After some more meetings with the Han Valley chief and elders, the Purple Mist Sect Master decided not to stay in town for the day and immediately left thereafter.

The Mo Clan team, on the other hand, decided to stay as Elder Long wished to hear a thing or two from Chief Xing Yi about the Sect Master's visit.

The Shu family, however, opted to head back to 'The Hunters Plateau.' Thus, after tidying up their shop, all the members of the Shu family who were in Han Valley packed their things and started to move.

And same as when the Shu family arrived, they all mounted the demonic beasts while Shu Wei and Shu Ling together with Yu Yue and the recent addition to the family, Yuan, rode the cart pulled by the Battle Ox.

And with that, the bandit extermination event came to an end.
