Immediately upon their arrival at the gates of 'The Hunters' Plateau,' Qai and the rest of the Shu family were welcomed by those who had been left in-charge of the entire plateau.

Elder Ming Yu, Qinlun, Bing, Su Yu and Shen including the Storm Bear and two Silvermoon Apes were anticipating their arrival. However, all of them stupefied at the sight of the two new additions—Elder 'Fatty' Lu and Yuan.

Noticing the perplexed look in their eyes, the head of the family, Shu Wei, quickly introduced the two and explained everything the would-be roles of the two in the family.

Among them all, Su Yu had the most mixed emotions—he was glad to have reunited with his uncle, and at the same time, he could not believe that his uncle were able to leave the Moon Village without trouble.

Shen, on the other hand, felt happy that finally another 'outer' disciple of the family would join him. Moreover, he felt a bit proud believing that he would be some sort of 'senior' to Yuan. It was so obvious that upon introduction of Yuan, Shen instantly puffed his chest out with his head held up high.

****************

That same day, everyone went to their respective working area and started to get back to each one's respective task.

Shu Wu called the two 'outer' disciples and officially began instructing them their routine activities.

Their work normally circled around herb gathering, cleaning and tending the contracted demonic beasts.

They were told to them religiously until they finally awaken their elemental affinities.

And since Jing was already relieved of looking after the beasts—he was instructed to officially begin being the family assassin.

His official post from thereon was shadows of the family head and occasionally asked to do the dirty work for the family.

Elder Ming Yu, meanwhile, who collected all the new items gathered from the bandit extermination rearranged the treasury—the new items definitely made 'The Hunters' Plateau' richer by leaps and bounds.

Qai informed Old Yu about the 'spirit stones' and told him to secure them well as they have no use for the family for now.

Elder 'Fatty' Lu, on the other hand, officially took over the management of the inn and shops and retained Yu Yue to assist him in the task.

As for the rest of the family members, they relatively had the same tasks so they practically just returned to their ordinary work.

And since the siblings Qai and Shu Liang were about to go on in their separate adventures—the father and son, Shu Wei and Shu Wu, had to take on the hunting jobs while the young ones were away.

****************

Qai's immediate focus was to test out his prized 'Chui Shi' and see if he could actually use it with his domesticated demonic beasts.

And so one early morning, he went to the shed and looked for the Dire Wolves.

Qai thought that he should try it out with the strongest ones since they had the better chance of survival should it turned out to be ineffective.

When he attempted to 'shelter' Shandian inside the pendant, it was easily done since Qai can mentally communicate with his 'contracted' demonic beast—and it was as if the lightning black tiger, Shandian, already knew what to do. So Qai successfully did it in one attempt.

But this time, he wasn't certain of what actually to do.

Qai tried to verbally command the Dire Wolves to get inside the spatial pendant but to no avail.

The wolves simply wagged their tails and looked intently at Qai who appeared to be silly doing everything he could repeatedly.

'Maybe this 'Chui Shi' really does work only with contracted demonic beasts,' he thought.

When the Purple Mist Sect Master gifted him the pendant, he was told that its primary purpose was container for contracted beasts—and that the sect had tried several times to put in other materials like weapons but that every attempt failed.

So the Sect Master had initially concluded that 'Chui Shi' could indeed be especially designed only for the contracted demonic beasts. Although, in truth, he was totally unconvinced—that was why he indirectly commissioned Qai to rediscover it's other uses.

But Qai was not the type to surrender to such conclusion easily. For him it was just a matter of time to figure everything out.

'Why was it that Shandian seemed to know what to do!?' he thought to himself as recalled what he previously did.

For Qai, if his contracted demonic beast had the innate knowledge of how to get inside the pendant, other demonic beasts must also have the same instinct.

He, then, took a bit of break and sat down on the ground in deep thought. Thereafter, he called his lightning black tiger and asked the demonic beast to try to get inside the pendant.

Shandian obediently complied with his request and the black tiger disappeared coupled with the sudden appearance of a quick lightning which zoomed into the pendant.

From there Qai tried to communicate with Shandian how it was inside the spatial pendant.

The contracted demonic beast answered by mentally describing how it appeared to be another dimension with nothing else to see but colors of pure energy seemingly floating without specific direction.

'Shandian,' Qai suddenly called as he thought of something, 'how about trying to call the Dire Wolves to join you inside!?'
