While Qai was walking down towards the treasury, a sudden voice sounded from afar.

"Young Master."

It was Elder 'Fatty' Lu who called. He actually came rushing upon learning that Qai was preparing to leave the plateau.

"Young Master," the elder once again addressed. "I have something to give to you."

"Eh."

Qai's face was beaming an expression of unexpectedness with the sudden remark of the elder.

Elder Lu then explained how impressed he was with the development of the entire Shu family.

Even if the elder had already seen the progress of the plateau previously as an outsider, it was only when he joined the family that he understood that Qai was the heart and soul of the family's rise.

Aside from that, he also learned of the truth behind the 'domesticated' demonic beasts.

Not only was he impressed of Qai, he was also both grateful for initially recruiting Su Yu now that he had personally proven that his decision was right, and at the same having the feeling of utmost respect to his new young master.

"Please accept this gift as a sign of my thanks and admiration," Elder 'Fatty' Lu urged.

Qai had no idea why the elder all of a sudden was trying to hand him a gift—but he accepted it without any sign of shame nonetheless.

The elder finally took the item from his spatial ring and showed it to Qai.

It was a skill scroll.

"I don't know if this will be to your liking..," Elder 'Fatty' Lu said, "..but I specifically reserved this for you."

It will take more time before Qai could breakthrough to another stage since he was then only at the initial Earth stage—but since he would be out for unknown length of time, it might be proper to keep with him the next skill scroll he would want to equip.

And so, when Qai got a hold of the scroll he could already recognize that it was indeed a rare scroll for cultivators with Lightning elemental affinity.

But what startled him was that when Qai took a proper look at it, the scroll was actually containing the 'Thunderbolt' skill which was exactly the same skill Shandian could activate.

'I wonder if I could also create those dark clouds once I activate this skill,' Qai interestingly thought after a moment of being dazed.

Elder 'Fatty' Lu noticed Qai's reaction which appeared to be beaming with 'weird' intents. So he felt elated as he deemed that Qai must have liked his gift.

"Young Master," he again called Qai's attention who was evidently still daydreaming.

"Oh," Qai suddenly uttered. "I was lost in my imagination."

He then inserted the skill scroll in his spatial ring and took a deep breath.

"This is great," he excitedly said. "I guess I better hurry and cultivate to make it to Sky stage soon."

Qai's cultivation speed, though, a little faster than ordinary, could not be said in the same level with other geniuses. At his current speed—barring any bottleneck along the way—he could probably be at Sky stage before the sect gathering. That means, it may take the entire year.

"I bet you'll be stronger once you equip the skill," the elder stressed.

Elder 'Fatty' Lu was not aware yet that Qai's contracted demonic beast, Shandian, could actually make use of the same skill that was why he could not totally surmise Qai's real appreciation of the gift.

****************

Meanwhile Shu Liang was making her own preparations.

She was actually entertaining the idea of taking the Dire Wolves along but in the end she felt that, in her case, it was easier to move by herself.

Indeed, with Shu Liang's Wind elemental affinity—even if demonic beasts had innate fast movement ability—the Dire Wolves, having no elemental affinities themselves, wouldn't be able to catch up with her.

Moreover, she had often heard of cultivators with Wind elemental affinities who had the ability to fly—so she thought of looking for a scroll of that specific skill in her journey since the Shu family's treasury does not possess one.

What Shu Liang wanted was actually called 'Flight.' And unfortunately, not even Elder 'Fatty' Lu had ever gotten a hand on such scroll in the many years of trading. So the elder could not give a good a hint where to find one.

"I cannot guarantee anything..," the elder said to her, "..but I suggest you try to visit some big auction houses in the cities."

Obviously, Shu Liang had not been to any auction houses so her journey would definitely be worth an experience for her.

Elder 'Fatty' Lu then took out a piece of wooden insignia from his spatial ring and handed it over to Shu Liang who, on the other hand, appeared to be clueless on what she just received.

"Should you get the chance to attend an auction," the elder explained, "then show this to the master of the place."

"Eh."

Shu Liang obviously still could not understand what the elder meant. So she lifted the wooden insignia near her face to inspect and tried to throw a question.

However, Elder 'Fatty' Lu was quick to follow up his words.

"It's actually the Hundred Treasure Pavilion's badge," he said.

"Hundred what!?"
