That same special blood in her, as Feng Lan believed, was the reason why she could some somehow retain her consciousness even if the effect of the 'mind control' pill was still in effect.

Qai's mind almost exploded from shock.

Not a long time ago, he just learned a thing or two about bloodlines and now he was meeting a cultivator with one—and a Tiger blood at that!

Feng Lan then explained that her family's ancestor was a cultivator who had been able to assimilate pure blood from a mythical White Tiger in the Divine realm as he had a fortuitous encounter of meeting one.

And as far as Feng Lan knew, beasts who attained the Divine realm could use human language so they were able to communicate with cultivators even if there was no blood contract involved.

In a sense, her 'fortunate' ancestor was like the first generation in their Tiger bloodline.

Moreover, while Feng Lan was just a descendant of such cultivator, she nevertheless still shared the same Tiger blood even if it was no longer of the same degree.

And with respect to Shandian, she could already sense just from one look upon seeing the black tiger that Shandian was a direct offspring of a white tiger demonic beast.

And even if the mother of Shandian was merely in the Sage realm and was evidently far from crossing the Divine realm, it still was a white tiger which had the mythical blood in it. And had Qai known of the effects of bloodlines back then, he could have probably assimilated a drop of its blood—who knew what could the effect be.

But as for Shandian, it appeared that he was already a half-breed.

Listening to Feng Lan explain things, Qai thought that it was perhaps due to Shandian's paternal roots that made him 'black.'

At any rate, Qai's mind went as far as to imagining that maybe he could just ask Shandian for a drop of its blood and assimilate into his own or that he could wait for both of them to reach Divine realm before he tried it.

Qai's face seemed to have played all those wishful thoughts in his mind so much so that Feng Lan and Dong Li were already staring at him curiously.

"Ahhh," Qai mumbled. "Lets first head back inside the city and see what can we do about your skills."

He then called Shandian to get back inside the spatial pendant—to the amazement of his two other companions—and instructed everyone to proceed.

***************

Qai's original plan in mind was to purchase a slave cultivator and make his slave join a slave match.

He felt that it was more appropriate for Feng Lan who had awaken her Fire elemental affinity to equip offensive skills instead of the occupational alchemy skills.

And since she was naturally faster and stronger than ordinary Expert cultivators, he thought it wise to make her learn close combat skills.

What Qai actually had in mind was to take advantage of Feng Lan's natural abilities having special bloodline—and indeed his theory was without a doubt the right path.

In the past, many of the cultivators with special bloodline in fact, upon breaching the Sage realm, immediately equipped the famed Sage grade 'Unique' class 'Berserk' skill as it naturally complimented their physical constitution.

The first skills, however, that came in Qai's mind for Feng Lan was a rare class movement skill and the Fire attribute version of his own 'Thunder Fists.'

And the other one would depend on the best skill available in the market.

"Let's check the 'Central Market' first," Qai said as they walked through the city streets.

******************

Upon mapping several shops, Qai and his companions purchased the rare movement skill for Fire elemental affinity called 'Flare' and another rare skill called 'Flame Fists' together with a complimentary weapon Spiked Gauntlets.

As for the third one, Qai could not make the best decision. Neither the often-learned 'Fireball' nor other long-ranged attack type skills did not fit well with Feng Lan's abilities.

Only until Qai came across the Thousand Treasure Pavilion did he found what he felt the most suitable for Feng Lan.

"How much would it cost?" Qai politely asked the merchant.

"Not only this skill is a Rare class," the merchant replied trying to raise the value of the item, "it truly is rare that it could hardly be found."

"So how much is it?" Qai once again asked.

"A thousand gold coins," the merchant added with a grin.

For an Expert grade skill, a thousand gold coin was indeed way too expensive. The merchant must have felt that Qai was a naive purchaser so he practically quadrupled the amount hoping that his client would bite his ploy.

"Deal," Qai exclaimed.

"Ah."

The merchant hurriedly finished the transaction as if he was afraid that Qai would suddenly change his mind.

And right after Qai and his group left, the merchant called one his attendants and gave some instructions.

"Follow that foolish backwater young master," he said. "And see what is he actually up to."

The skill that Qai actually got for his slave cultivator was called 'Ignition.'

'Ignition' was actually a buff skill that when activated, a thin blue flame would cover the cultivator's skin greatly increasing his or her defenses.

And with Feng Lan's already strong offense, such defensive buff was complementingly ideal.

Few minutes later, Qai booked rooms in an inn.

He dismissed Dong Li that day instructed and instructed Feng Lan to learn the skills that he bought—he also gave her lots of cultivating pills before heading to his room.

"Let's spend few days cultivating," he said. "I think I'm about to breakthrough."
