All of them brokethrough to a certaim degree. But when Qai looked at everyone, he figured out that he was the last to emerge from cultivation.

"Well, it seems I'm the last one to breakthrough a stage," Qai said in jest.

Again he looked at everyone and then rubbed his nose with a grin. He saw how all the efforts of the Shu family had not been in vain.

It hadn't been long when Qai first told his father about his desire to help his family build a cultivating clan. But looking at each of the family members, he could not but feel that his goal was gradually becoming a reality.

Shu Wei, the family head was now at the mid Sky stage of Sage realm. He would have four more years to achieve a daunting task of reaching half step-sage Emperor.

Shu Ling, who wasn't fond of cultivating had broken through half-step sage realm. She had not thought of any other skill other than healing skills—so currently, her healing capability rad reached profound level.

Shu Wu, who had broken through to sage realm prior to the start of the wasteland event was an exception to the task of leveling up by a stage. But even then, he had reached the peak Earth stage—so it was in a sense also a success.

Qinlun was a welcome addition in the line of sages in the family. She had also broken through to reach the initial Earth stage of Sage realm.

She joined Qai, Shu Liang, her husband Shu Wu, Su Yu and the family head in the ranks. Thus in total, there were six sages in the family. This kind of strength could be considered at par with most of the big cultivating families in the region.

Qai and Shu Liang were the obvious ones to breakthrough effortlessly as the were the center of the Shu family's true strength. And as expected, both of them reached the initial Earth stage of the Sage realm in just a span of one year.

As mentioned, Su Yu with Metal Elemental affinity also brokethrough to Sage realm. He has actually reached the mid Earth stage—one level higher than Qai and Shu Liang. He can now craft better weapons with his 'Profound Crafting' skill.

Xiao Ning reached the half-step sage realm. And it would not take long before she followed suit in the sage realm.

The twins Jing and Bing had surprisingly reached the mid heaven stage of Expert realm.

Fortunately for Jing, Qai found the 'Poison Haze' skill scroll in Teng Hu's spatial ring. So Jing was able to equip a rare skill coupled with the dagger from the huge cauldron which Qai looted from Teng Hu. Both of these items made Jing instantly a strong cultivator.

The duo of Old Yu and Yu Yue benefited the most within the span of one year. Old Yu, as told, jumped three levels reaching the peak Sky stage while Yu Yue also finally broke through from long slumber and achieved the mid Sky stage of Expert realm.

Both of them were each gifted pills concocted from thousand year herbs by Shu Wei in the hope that they get out of their misery. And thankfully enough, they both indeed made a breakthrough after so many years.

The domesticated demonic beasts were no different. They all made great strides in their level.

The Silvermoon Apes finally joined the ranks. The two were at the mid Earth stage of the Expert realm. The Battle Ox was at mid Sky stage while Storm Bear was at the peak Sky Stage.

On the other hand, the original group of beast manifested even better result. The two War Horses had already reached the mid Heaven stage while the pair of Dire Wolves were strikingly at half-step Sage realm.

Such progress of the domesticated demonic beasts at incredible speed was perhaps due to their innate aptitude at cultivation.

Only Shu Kongxu and Shen were the only ones left at mortal realm in the family—although it will actually be a little less than a year for Shen to awaken his own element.

Shen for his part was already beaming with excitement seeing his seniors growing stronger day by day.

'One day, I will be one with you..,' he thought.

***************

"Alright," Qai said.

"Have you already expressed your request Old Yu?" he asked.

Everyone intently looked at Old Yu to know what specifically he wants.

"Ahm," Old Yu shyly responded.

"There's really nothing that I particularly desire," he continued. "I am grateful enough to have given the opportunity by the Shu family."

"No.. no..," Qai interjected realizing that Old Yu would forego with the reward.

"That won't do.. Father has already gave his word," Qai said. "For as long as the family can afford it, why would we deny it?"

"Then if you insist..," Old Yu said stammeringly, "..then my simple request is to consider me.. as officially an elder of the family."

"Eh."
