Qai and Jing, together with Shandian, immediately left the cave after sealing its entrance. But before they proceeded, Qai activated his 'Hawkeye' to check the surroundings.

"It's clear.. let's go," Qai said.

The three of them rushed while he kept his eye skill activated. They were still a few kilometers away from the battlefield when Qai sensed something—and it was a bit intimidating.

"Wait.. stop," Qai urged.

Jing was surprised with the sudden instruction.

"What is it, young master?" Jing asked as he released his aura readying himself in any eventual assault.

Qai stayed silent and intently observed a point in the surrounding as he maximized his 'Hawkeye' skill.

"There are three cultivators to the north..," Qai said softly with his head gesturing to Jing to focus his attention to the north. "..and they seem to be hiding in the trees."

"Are they bandits, young master?" Jing asked.

Qai suddenly paused and took a look to the direction of the three individuals once again. However, he could not sense neither their identities nor their cultivation level as the position of the said cultivators was too far and were slightly hidden until he saw a glimpse of the shape of the insignia of the Purple Mist Sect on their robes.

"Sect disciples!?" Qai surmised.

"The sect?" Jing asked. "What could they be doing here?"

Qai shook his head and was instantly lost in thought when Jing uttered the questions.

'They can't possibly interfere with the fight,' Qai thought to himself. 'Didn't they say that this bandit extermination thing means nothing to them.'

Qai could not figure out their purpose so he thought it would be better not to meddle with their affairs.

"We better hurry and inform the others about their presence," Qai quickly said.

Qai then led Jing and Shandian to another route as he tried to avoid themselves from being noticed by the sect disciples.

'Whatever they're trying to do, I don't think the three of us could match up with them should we cross their path,' Qai thought as he calculated that the three sect disciples must be way stronger than the three of them.

***************

Unknown to Qai, the three sect disciples did indeed noticed them although they were not able to recognize who they were.

"Look at those two..," one of the disciples said.

"Do you mean those two young cultivators with the black tiger?" Another sect disciple replied.

"Black tiger!?" The third one remarked in surprise. "Where did I last time saw a black tiger?"

That disciple was actually one of the participants from the Purple Mist Sect in the concluded Desolate Wasteland event years ago.

"Anyway..," he added in the midst of recalling the past, "..I don't think they're one of the bandits.. But what could they possibly be thinking going in the direction of the battle?"

"Should we also tell the Sect Master about them?" the first disciple asked.

"Let's watch what they're up to.. I'm quite certain they belong to one of the Han Valley teams," the other sect disciple suggested in reply.

Obviously, the three Purple Mist Sect disciples did not witness that Qai and Jing ransacked the cave a bit earlier. They only noticed them as Qai and Jing, together with Shandian, approached the battlefield.

****************

'Wabooooom.'

'Boooom,' 'boooom,' 'booooom.'

"Arrrrgghhhh."

'Kablaaaaaaam.'

'Baaaaaam,' 'baaaaaam.'

'Swooooosh,' 'swooooosh.'

When Qai and his group neared the battlefield, they were shocked to see from afar that the fight seemed to be free for all.

'I guess the strategy wasn't materialized,' Qai thought to himself.

The entire area was filled with cultivators fighting each other and the atmosphere was covered by the aftermath of thousands of skills as different effects of elemental affinities were evident all over the place making it difficult to determine whose side had actually the upper hand.

"Young master," Jing called. "Can you find them?"

"I'll try," Qai softly responded.

He then immediately activated his 'Hawkeye' skill and looked for his domesticated demonic beasts—they were obviously easier to distinguish from more than a thousand cultivators.

After few breaths, Qai finally saw 'The Hunters' Plateau' team.

"They're too deep in the middle," Qai said.

"What should we do then, young master?" Jing asked.

"Hmmmn."

Qai thought that it would be impossible for them to get through the battle without the possibility of getting hit by the attacks so he devised a better way to sneak in.

"Brother Jing..," he said, "Take Shandian with you."

'Growwwl.'

"And ride swiftly in the midst of that enemy territory and release your Posion Haze in as many parts as you can," Qai instructed as he pointed to the bandits location.

"As for me..," he added, "..I'll get up on one of these trees and cover you with my arrows."

"And after you're done messing up with the bandits, hide yourself and take a turn to get into the Han Valley's side..," Qai assuringly instructed, "..I'm pretty sure they'll recognize Shandian."
