Jayde struggled against the blackness holding her prisoner, she felt as though she was drowning in a thick viscous substance that kept on dragging her down. Fighting and clawing her way through the sticky substance for what felt like hours she finally broke through, with a gasp Jayde opened her eyes. Even that small action took effort, she felt as though someone had tied weights to her eyelids.

Her eyelids fluttered as Jayde struggled to open them, finally, Jayde succeeded in opening her eyes, and found herself in a brightly lit small white room. She was lying on a hard bed. Jayde tried to lift her hand but found that she was tied down. Shocked she raised her head to see what was holding her prisoner.

Horrified she stared at the adamantium manacles that bound her legs and arms. An ice cold feeling rushed though Jayde as a sour taste filled her mouth. Adamantium was a man-made substance only found in the federation, it was nearly indestructible and extremely valuable.

How is this possible? Jayde thought in disbelief, I was just on Doha how the f*ck did I end up in the Federation.

[ISHA!] Jayde shouted frantically.

[ISHA!]

After calling for Isha a couple of times and getting no response, Jayde started to panic, remembering that she still had Reiko and Yinxin, Jayde tried to contact them using her contract bond, but to her dismay, she couldn't feel her bond to them at all — it was like they didn't exist.

Sweat beaded Jayde forehead, as her fingers started to tremble.

"Gods, what the hell is going on?" Jayde whispered in confusion.

Confused and desperate, Jayde lost all sense of rationality as she started to struggle to get free of the manacles binding her. Jayde ignored the throbbing, stingy pain as the flesh on her wrists tore, as she frantically tried to break free.

SWOOSH

At the sound of an electronic door opening, Jayde glanced up. Her breath caught as she stared in a face she didn't believe she would ever see again.

"L..l-awrence?" Jayde gasped out in shock disbelief.

"How? You dead." she whispered.

At Jayde's statement, Lawrence burst out laughing.

"Oh please, SN1098. Do you really think YOU could ever defeat Xi Corp?" Lawrence said scornfully.

Continuously shaking her head, Jayde thoughts raced as she tried to make sense of what was going on.

"Tsk. Tsk. SN1098, you really made a mess out yourself," Lawrence said mockingly as he went to the built in replicator.

"One low-grade med scanner," he ordered.

A familiar electronic buzz filled the room as the replicator printed out a basic med scanner. Jayde could feel an icy feeling pooling in her stomach, as Lawrence walked back over to her. Holding the med scanner in his hand he activated the scanner, and then gently pressed it against Jayde's left arm.

As the nanobots entered Jayde blood stream, Jayde could visibly see the injured skin on her wrists healing, as the pain subsided and her wrist showed newly grown pink skin, Jayde mouth dried up.

Clenching her fists she kept on trying to deny everything. This can't be true, she thought.

"What the f*ck is going on Lawrence? I know I activated that antimatter bomb, we all died." Jayde stated firmly, trying to hide her growing hysteria.

Just then Lawrence wrist com badge bleeped, activating the com badge with his thumb, Jayde heard Vice President Xi voice.

"SN1055 is that bitch awake?"

Lifting the com badge closer to his mouth, Lawrence gloatingly replied: "Yes sir, she is wide awake and wearing the cutest dumbfounded look on her face."

Feeling queasy Jayde stared at the com badge in horror. This must be some sort of hallucination, she thought.

Vice President's Xi delighted laughter filled the room.

"Bring her up to the bridge so that she may enjoy the pleasant surprise we have for her — oh and SN1055 don't forget to slap a neuro restraint on her, we don't want her getting all violent on us now, do we?"

"Will do, Sir."

After Vice President Xi signed off, Lawrence then ordered the on board computer to connect him to Petty Officer SX312.

When Petty Officer SX312 answered Lawrence's call, Lawrence ordered her to bring red level neuro restraint to the prisoner medbay.

Not even three minutes later, there was a bleep at the door.

"Come," Lawrence called out.

A young pretty woman entered the room, her fresh oval face expressionless as she saluted. Walking over to Lawrence, she handed the small metal disk in her hand to Lawrence.

"Dismissed."

The young woman turned smartly on her heels and left the room, not once did she even look in Jayde's direction.

In the minutes that they had been waiting for the Petty Officer, Jayde had asked Lawrence numerous questions, but he had refused to answer. His only response had been that she should wait for Vice President Xi.

Jayde took deep calming breaths to compose herself, right now she needed to be levelheaded and rational. Wiping all expressions from her face, she stared at Lawrence indifferently with icy eyes as he strolled over to her, flipping the metal disk in his hand.

Seeing Jayde cold look, Lawrence grinned at her smugly, before quickly grabbing her jaw and twisting her head sideways. He then slapped the neuro restraint just behind Jayde's left ear. Jayde could feel the coldness of the metal against her skin just behind her ear.

Releasing Jayde jaw, Lawrence quickly retreated. He knew Jayde well enough to know that even restrained as she was, she would still fight back, and he didn't relish losing a chunk of his flesh to her vicious teeth.

"Computer activate neuro restraint on prisoner SN1098."

At Lawrence's order, Jayde could feel the ice cold metal strands from the neuro restraint pierce her skin, and then invade her brain. Millions of tiny metal filaments soon wrapped their way around every single nerve in Jayde brain. At the slight indication of aggression, these metal filaments would interrupt the signals in Jayde's brain, locking her down.

Neuro restraints were only ever used on the most dangerous criminals in the Federation, this was mainly due to how much damage they could inflict on a person's brain, as each time the prisoner went into lockdown, the nerves in the brain was damaged. Even removing the neuro restraint would cause irreparable damage.

Once the computer informed Lawrence that the neuro restraint was one hundred percent active, did Lawrence then order for the adamantium manacles to be released.

"Authorisation code?" the diembodied voice of the computer sounded through the room as it received Lawrence's order.

"SN1055 Alpha, Echo, November, Sierra, Xray. Nine, three, six, six, zero, eight."

"Voice identification confirmed. Authorization code confirmed."

As the computer finished talking, the manacles on Jayde wrists and ankles released.

"Let's go you, traitorous bitch," Lawrence sneered. "Best not to keep Vice President Xi waiting, he has been waiting impatiently for you to wake up for days now."

Lawrence removed his blaster from his hip and pointed it directly at Jayde, moving the blaster slightly Lawrence indicated for Jayde to get up and move.

Swinging her leg over the side of the bed Jayde climbed off the bed. As she straightened up she realized that she was back in her old body. Her and Lawrence had always been of similar height.

WTF was going on, Jayde thought to herself and she turned to the electronic door.
