Chapter 79

Jayde withdrew most of the meat stored in her spatial ring. Reiko seeing the meat immediately lost all his dignity, as he ran around Jayde begging for barbecue. Laughing at Reiko antics, Jayde promised Reiko that she would make him barbecue once she had fed Yinxin.
After cutting the meat in chunks she gave the meat to Yinxin. Moving closer to the entrance to the cavern Jayde set up her campfire, she didn't want the smoke from the barbecue to irritate the dragons. While waiting for the fire to be ready, she took out a piece of meat and cut it into fine cubes. Taking out a pot from her spatial ring, she filled the pot with water from one of the lily pods she had stored.
Boiling the meat until it was soft and tender, she placed the pot filled with the broth to the side to cool down. While the broth was cooling down, she spiced some meat, and place it over the hot coals for herself and Reiko.
While the meat was cooking, the two weak wyrmlings started to stir. They were still very weak, and Jayde could hear them whimpering softly in the background. After Jayde and Reiko finished eating their barbecue, Jayde took the pot filled with the broth, realizing that she needed to strain the food, as she was worried that the wyrmlings choke, Jayde cut a piece of leather from one of her old leather pants.
Using an arrowhead, Jayde poked small holes into the leather. Jayde placed the leather square over a wooden bowl, then using some rope that she had made by plaited strips of leather, she wrapped it around the leather square to hold in firmly in place.
Using her homemade strainer, Jayde poured the broth in the pot into the bowl. Once all the broth was poured through her strainer, Jayde then used a clean rock to grind up the meat that was too large to pass through her strainer. Once she was happy that meat was small enough for the wyrmlings, Jayde added a quarter of a bottle of healing potion to her 'baby formulae'.
With her bowl of 'baby formulae' in hand, Jayde walked over to the two wyrmlings. Sitting down, Jayde lifted one of the hatchlings, picking up a spoon, she gently spooned some of the broth into the mouth of the little dragon.
Since Jayde was unsure of how the wyrmlings would react to her broth, she only fed it half a cup full, then placing the little dragon down, she picked up the other one and repeated the whole process again. Once both wyrmlings were fed, Jayde placed the leftover broth into her spatial ring for safe keeping.
"Lady Yinxin, what are the names of your hatchling?" Jayde asked she was curious about their names.
Yinxin who had been watching Jayde feed and care for her hatchlings look up startled at Jayde question.
Smiling sadly she replied [The little one by Reiko is Tianxin [1]]
Leaning over she touched the little dragon on Jayde left [My son is Shenxin [2], and my youngest daughter is Huaxin [3]]
Now that Jayde has spent time with the three wyrmlings she was able to pick up slight differences between the three, while they all looked like tiny versions of their mother, Tianxin coloring was more white than silver, while Shenxin frill had more gold than silver, Hauxin though instead of her frill having a gold edge it was more a light lavender.
After an hour went by, Jayde was happy to note that the wyrmlings had no adverse effect from eating the broth she had fed them. Giving them each another half a cup of broth, she went back to observing them.
Yinxin was exhausted and although she was still a bit wary of Jayde, her actions had shown that she cared deeply for her hatchlings. Thinking that if Jayde had really wanted to harm them, she could have easily have done so, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Jayde kept watch, and every hour she fed the two little dragons half a cup of broth. After eight hours, Jayde was starting to feel confident that the little dragons could handle the broth as they had no adverse reactions, and could see that their color was looking better.
While still very weak, they were also a little bit more active. Reiko and Tianxin had woken up earlier, and little Tianxin was hungry. Jayde fed her some broth as well since the other two were doing okay eating the 'formulae' she had made, she did not want Tianxin to wake up her mother to nurse, Yinxin needed to rest to recover her strength.
Reiko kept Tianxin occupied and played with her. Tired out from her playing, Tianxin fell asleep with Reiko joining her. The night passed peacefully, Jayde napped in between feeding Shenxin and Hauxin.
The next morning Yinxin awoke feeling stronger than she had in months. Worried about her hatchlings, she looked over only to be shocked silly. Expecting to see her two wyrmlings lying weakly on the floor, she was instead greeted with the sight of them both standing in front of a sitting Jayde, mouths open and demanding to be fed.
Jayde looked like she was having a hard time trying to keep up with the demanding little dragons, she had the bowl of broth of her lap, and she was quickly feeding a spoon of broth to one, then the other.
Jayde felt Yinxin gaze upon her, looking up she smiled joyfully at Yinxin.
Yinxin was overjoyed, she hadn't expected Jayde strange idea to work, but seeing her two hatchings standing was a dream come true for her. She had no word to express the feelings in her heart.
[Jayde, thank you] Yinxin said sincerely, her voice filled with suppressed emotions.
Smiling Jayde replied simply with "You welcome."
After the two little dragons had eaten their fill, they curled up next to their mother's body, content and with a full belly, they fell asleep.
Jayde took out the remaining meat in her spatial ring for Yinxin to eat. Reiko and Jayde ate the provisions given to them by Elder Ryunzo and his wife.
After breakfast Jayde, Reiko and Yinxin discussed plans for the day. It was decided that Jayde would return to Tardide to inform the villagers that the Direwolves were dead, Jayde was worried that if she didn't return Behro might come looking for her, and she didn't want the villagers to find out about Yinxin and her wyrmlings.
Once everything was sorted out in the village Jayde would then go hunting with Reiko, and return later.
Yinxin wasn't worried about Jayde betraying her and her hatchlings, Jayde actions had convinced her that Jayde was a human that she could trust. After collecting the Alpha's head for Milta, Jayde placed the strongest ward that she had over the entrance of the cave. Then she and Reiko set off for Tardide.
