They merged slowly into the crowd of people on the streets, Angel shifted uncomfortably in her jacket. Earlier they had stuffed their wings in the back of their jackets, Angel hated the constricted feeling it gave her but was also saddened that from now on in her life she would have to get specially made jackets if she wanted to wear them. At least Don had cut two holes in the back of her shirt for her wings to go through, that was as comfortable she was going to get.
Angel caught up to Don, she grasped his hand in the swell of the crowd "so Don, where are we going for lunch?" she asked. Donavan smiled, Angel didn't miss the flicker of mischief in his eyes though. " Somewhere very special, just for people like us" he whispered in her ear. Angel smiled back "ok," she said.
When they finally stopped Angel was very surprised, they had stopped outside a dark shop with a large spray-painted sign that read "BLUE'S TATOO'S" Angel looked over at Don and raised her eyebrow. He smiled at her "don't worry its a lot better than it seems" he said, Angel felt nervous but she nodded anyway.
The shop had a large interior with midnight blue walls and a skull-shaped chandelier hanging from the ceiling, Angel's eyes were wide with wonder, posters of all shapes and sizes were on the walls. Angel couldn't take her eyes off was one painting, in particular, it was a deep rusty red with swirls of lighter red in the background. But what was really captivating was the girl standing there, she had ivory black hair, burning soulless eyes and pale skin. Long fangs protruded from her mouth and a pair of rusty red wings were curled around her slender figure, Angel felt something deep inside her when she looked at this painting.
"who is this girl?" Angel asked Don, his smile widened "I think you already know" he said mysteriously. Angel shook her head "what's with the whole mystery thing, I have no idea who this is" she said slightly annoyed at his response. Don chuckled "well you will meet her during lunch so don't get too grumpy", Angel huffed and turned away, then before either of them could say anything her stomach grumbled loudly "someones hungry," Don said. Angels face went pink "um so how about that lunch now?".
