Is the first thing that Naota questions himself when he looks around at the green and beautiful grasses, the beautiful scenery of the dawn breaking, the trees which shake due to the wind, the pond which with beautiful water waves and then he finally looks at the muddy road.
Naota puts his right index finger under his chin and then curved to his left cheek and opened his thumb towards the right cheek while keeping the other fingers fold. He begins to observe the road. "The roads seem to be the type of roads that villages in Japan would have." Naota speaks to himself as he observes the road. He then touches the road. "It's definitely a muddy road." Naota says.
Naota hears a roar.
"Hmm?" Naota turns around and looks at a creature with two horns but it looks like a lion.
(A lion with horns? What kind of creature is that? Some kind of urban legend or something?)
The lion is staring at Naota angrily.
(Shit...Seems like it is hungry. One wrong move and I am dead.)
Naota takes a step back.
(I need to find that thing some kind of food.)
The lion roars loudly. Naota covers his ears while that he also covered his eyes. "Damn that roar! It almost busted my ears." Naota says to himself. Naota opens his eyes. His eyes widen has the lion begins to run towards Naota with the horns pointing right at him. "Ah shit!" Naota turns his back and begins to run as quickly as possible.
(That thing is fast, I have to run...I have to run...Run faster...Faster then I have ever ran...)
That's when Naota see's a message pop up in a brown box.
(What's this?)
"Would you like to have the ability super sprint?" Says the message. Under the message, a text says, "Ability points left: 1" and under that there were to options. Option one was, "Yes." Option two was, "No."
(What the hell? Where did this stuff pop out from?!)
Naota then see's to his left, he saw a bar there, it said exp. "What the hell? Is this some kind of game?!" Naota seems to be confused with what is happening around him while running from a horned lion.
(Whatever the case, for now...Super sprint seems to be my only option to escape from here)
"Yes, I will have the ability super sprint." Naota says. The option "Yes" gets selected by a blink of two.
Suddenly, as Naota takes another step to run further, his speed ferociously increases. "WOH!!!! THIS IS CRAZY!" Naota smiles as he gets away then suddenly, something strikes him.
(All this time...Didn't I want to die?)
Naota stops running and looks back. The lion seems to be far away from him but it definitely is still chasing him. Naota looks sad. "This maybe a free world but...What really can I do here? At least in the world I was living in...I had someone I had to take care of...And protect..." Naota is reminded of his mother. He realises that he is quite alone in this world unlike the other one where his mother has always held his hand and he has made sure to protect her in anyways possible. That is the reason why he decided give himself to his step father.
Naota sighs. "Guess I should just-"
Suddenly, Naota sees a horse coming towards him from his left. The horse was well healthy and had a golden armour around it's head. The horse hit Naota but it wasn't a big clash. The horse was stopped before anything bad could have happened to Naota.
"Hmm? Are you alright? I didn't hurt you or anything, did I?" A cute voice of a young girl. Naota rubs his head. "Yeah, I am fine." Naota says and that looks at the person sitting on that horse. It was a young girl. She must be close to 20's. She has a blind-fold covering her eyes. She wore a long white dress and a gold sleeveless trench coat on it. She also seems to carry a sheathed sword that is hanging on the waist of her sleeveless trench coat. She has blonde long hair which flows with the wind and two long earrings, they seem to be the halves of each other to be exact.
(Why is she wearing a blind-fold?)
"May I ask you what you are doing here umm..." Naota interrupts the girl. "Takaki Naota but call me Naota." Naota says to the girl. "Oh, nice to meet you Naota, my name is Adana Itrix." The girl says to Naota. "Now, back to the topic, what are you doing here?" Adana asks Naota. "Well...If I had to put it in words, I am lost..." Naota looks away.
(What else should I say her? She gives me the kind person vibe. So I don't want to tell her about my suicidal thoughts or else she will try and stop me that's one thing for sure.)
"Ah! Your a lost stranger here." Adana says to Naota. "Let me know, where do you want to go?" Adana asks Naota. "Hmm? You don't feel that in this open land...I am the only one person and I could be dangerous to you?" Naota asks Adana. Adana chuckles.
(What's with her? Why is she giggling like that?)
"Honestly-Hmm?" Something catches Adana's attention. She gets off her horse. "Adana..." Naota looks confused. Adana begins to smell the air. "What's happening?" Naota looks confused. "Tell me, any of those devilions chase you here?" Adana asks Naota.
(Devilions? Is she talking about that thing that was chasing me earlier?)
"Yeah...If your talking about those horned lions, yeah." Naota says to Adana. Adana's face gets aggressive. "They did not hurt you, did they?" Adana asks Naota. "Not at all, I ran away from that thing and it wasn't a group, it was just a single one." Naota says to Adana. "A single one...I see...It's a stray devilion then...Or was it a hunter..." Adana says as she begins to move forward. "What are you doing?" Naota asks Adana. "I am getting ready." Adana says as she stretches her left leg and holds the sheathe of the sword near her waist with her left hand and the hilt of the sword with her right.
(Getting ready...What is she talking about?)
Naota looks in front of Adana and himself. "Huh?!" Naota seems to have forgotten that the devilion was still chasing him. It wasn't one devilion but a 1000's of them.
(Shit this is bad...This was my mistake. What is this blind girl doing? She must be crazy. This bad, real bad...What can I do? What can I do?)
Naota seems to be sweating and stressing out a lot. "Calm down." Adana says with a smile. "Huh?!" Naota seems to be confused. "I can smell your sweat meaning your stressed out. So calm down and trust me." Adana says to Naota. "Okay smell my sweat? Now that's straight up...Creepy..." Naota says to Adana. "Trust me, I maybe blind but it doesn't mean that those devilions can get to me. I will be sure to protect you...So don't worry." Adana says as the devilions got closer.
"Protect me..." Naota looks at Adana. The sentence that Adana said reminded him of how his mother promised him to protect him.
Naota blinks his eyes. "Huh?" Adana wasn't in front Naota anymore. Naota turned his attention towards the devilions. Not a single one lived. Everyone of them were cut in half or were stabbed to death. Not even a second passed and the blind girl was able to kill each and everyone of them. She stood right in the middle of them. The view of her was beautiful. She did not even have a single trace of blood on her clothing. Her hair floated in the air and she sheathed her sword.
(This is...So beautiful...)
Adana walked towards Naota. "Naota, right?" Adana asks Naota. "Yeah..." Naota says. "Can you tell me where you want to go? I will lead you there." Adana says. "I really don't know..." Naota says looking away from Adana. "Like I said, I am lost...I don't know where I can go, what I can do or even what I can eat-" Naota is interrupted by Adana. "So your basically homeless?" Adana asks Naota. "Yeah...Pretty much..." Naota says to Adana.
(Even though I have a home and I don't know how to get there from this weird world...)
Adana gets on her horse ignoring what Naota says. Naota sighs.
(Guess it's just like back when I used to live in the red light district...No one used to help us. It's happening again, huh?)
Naota gives a sad smile.
(Guess I am just too used to it.)
"What are you waiting for?" Adana asks Naota. Naota looks at Adana. "What did you say?" Naota looks confused. "Hop on, I will take you to my city." Adana says with a smile. Naota smiles.
(Maybe...This world isn't that bad after all...I wish...Mother was here too. I guess I will just have to peep into this world myself huh...I just hope I don't come across an incident as bad as mine...)
