"Father…" Carye widened her eyes and looked at Elder Dam in disbelief, her tears kept falling from her swollen eyes. "Father, it is my fault, but give me a chance to fix it…" She wailed.
"Father!" Wang Yu stood in front of Carye as if he was trying to shield her and faced Elder Dam. "Father, you can't blame Carye for something that is not her fault! Let's hear her story first!" He tried to reason with his father.

"Yes, yes…" Carye immediately nodded. "Senja was walking alone in the street though I have warned her to go back to the carriage right away. Maybe, there was something that made her curios, that was why she went alone to check on it." Carye blurted out.
She knew Elder Dam would be very mad, but she would have never thought that he would kill her, thus her voice was trembling with fear and her sentences were not like she had prepared.
"The men that came with me could testify for that." Carye hastily added. "They wanted to follow Senja, but she wanted to be alone." Carye tried to convince the Elder.
"Why do you bring my granddaughter away?!" Elder Dam shouted, his hand was trembling as he held the hilt of his sword tightly. "I don't believe you if you say that you don't have ulterior motives behind this!"
Carye immediately knocked her head on the floor hardly until Hikari and Rindi wailed again, calling out for their mother.
"That day, there was a festival, thus I wanted to give something special to her, I wanted her to dress beautifully and watch the fireworks festival with Hikari and Rindi…" Carye wiped away her tears. "But, after I bought a new dress for her, I told her to wait inside the carriage."
Elder Dam scoffed upon seeing Carye was wailing pitifully as if she cared about Senja's well being.
"However I didn't know that Senja would roam around the city alone and got lost…" After that Carye started to cry again.
"Father, this is not Carye fault." Wang Yu spoke as he gestured to Hikari and Rindi to bring Carye away from there. "Senja rarely went out of the mansion, she must be very curious about the city."
Hikari and Rindi brought their mother away before Elder Dam slapped her again or threw them away from this mansion.
Carye was still wiping her tears and slowly moved along with her two daughters.
"Moreover, you have sent all the shadow guard to find her, we will hear news from the guard soon." Wang Yu still tried to appease his father's anger.
"Wang Yu, I will just say this one time." Elder Dam took a step forward as they were in eyes level. "If I have any evidence that Carye behind all of this, I will throw her out of the mansion if you don't want to do that!"
