Lachlan got the four birds to stop mid-air as he jumped over to Aaron. He didn't want to become a burden or anything while the three Rocs and their opponents fight. He especially didn't want to be the reason they lose.

'Alright, you three go a take care of the intelligent beasts, myself and Aaron will go take care of the hordes of normal beasts' Lachlan said.

'Okay, we'll show them who's boss now' Catastrophe said arrogantly. But his strength was the reason for his confidence, and Lachlan had confidence in his strength as well.

*Tap*Tap*Tap*Tap*Tap*Tap*

The sound of hundreds of thousands of footsteps could suddenly be heard from behind them, back towards the city. When he looked back he was surprised to see that the normal and abandoned ruined city was now bustling with life.

Even though that life were a bunch of beasts. The sides of buildings and along the roads have been covered by beasts, it looked as though they had disturbed an ant's nest. They just kept pouring out of the buildings and shelters in a non-stop action.

'Alright Aaron, you ready?' Lachlan asked.

'Indeed, their numbers mean nothing to my overwhelming strength' Aaron boasted proudly as he looked down on the hundreds of thousands of beasts.

'Then let's go' Lachlan commanded.

Aaron closed its wings before diving down towards the ground, its mouth slightly open with a bit of smoke coming out of it. Just as they were about to smash into the ground Aaron spread its wings and changed their direction.

They were going head first into the armada of beasts. Lachlan was holding on tightly, he had wrapped his arms and legs around Aaron's body as much as he can.

Spiders began to shoot their webs from the sides of the buildings. But Aaron didn't even take notice of them, as with the simplest flap of his wings they were all sent away. Hitting their own comrades, nailing them to the wall.

Aaron quickly opened his mouth and a torrent of flames came bursting out towards the horde. Their bodies lit alight and the flames quickly spread from one beast to the next. Aaron didn't even both wasting time firing another attack and instead just slammed through them all with its robust body.

Using control over the water Aaron had frozen a bit of water along the edges of its wings. The ice formed a dangerously sharp blade that sliced through the hordes of beasts as though they were butter.

When Lachlan saw that, he got an idea that'll keep him slightly safer. Holding his hands towards the ground, still slightly wrapped around Aaron and ring of water began to form around them. The rings quickly extended towards each other, and when they finally connected Lachlan froze the water completely. He had safely secured his body onto Aaron, as for the rest of the safety, Aaron could deal with that.

Looking around he saw limbs flying everywhere. Aaron's wings were slicing them apart, even the heavily shielded beasts such as scorpions were no match. The only thing that kept the scorpions slightly safer was the fact their head and heart was closer to the ground, making it slightly difficult for Aaron to kill them all with his wings.

Fortunately, the wings weren't the only attack it had. Aaron continued to fire off flames, towards the hordes of beasts covering the streets and walls. The corpses of spiders rained down onto other beasts, setting them alight as well.

It was a massacre, one which Lachlan thoroughly enjoyed. As he felt his strength slightly increase, which could only mean Aaron was levelling up.

...

On the Rocs side, they were just beginning to battle their opponents. Calamity was fighting Athena, Catastrophe was up against Arachne and Disaster had put himself up against Serqet. Calamity had suggested that Disaster goes against Athena since she is physically weaker than the others, but he was rejected by Disaster saying he wants to prove he isn't weak.

After hearing that Calamity happily gave Serqet for Disaster to fight. The three were siblings after all, and even though they might have arguments here and there most of them were just for fun. He was proud to see his brother standing up for himself.

In front of Calamity was Athena, who was looking distressed when she noticed her soldiers weren't coming towards her. When she looked over towards the city she noticed the blazing fire spreading across it, all of her soldiers were getting burnt to a crisp.

When she saw Lachlan riding on Aaron, he quickly looked back to Calamity and knew they were working together.

She quickly got into a battle stance, she knew that to survive she would need to beat Calamity. The only thing making her hesitant was the fact that she could feel that Calamity was stronger than her, there was a large gap between their strengths as well.

Noticing her hesitation Calamity shot down towards her. Using its lightning speed it almost appeared in front of her in an instant, as though he teleported.

Athena ducked down, barely dodging the attack. But when Calamity thought Athena should be in distress she was instead smiling. He felt something bad was going to happen and shot up higher in the air.

He heard the wind splitting beneath him, looking down he noticed a spike had shot out from the pillars. It then quickly retracted back into the pillar. Calamity realised the fight won't be as easy as he thought.

Although prideful, Athena knew he shortcomings and decided to act upon them. This world held no honour, the winners were the survivors and that was that. So she made sure when she's in her base she would be heavily protected, even without the help of her soldiers.

That was what made her cunning.

Calamity was now hesitating to continue the battle. He had never fought against a cunning opponent before, there was nothing she wouldn't do to survive and that was the scary part. Since he didn't know what would attack him next.

It was likely all the pillars had spears in them that could attack, he just didn't know whether or not there was anything else. Anything that could end his life instantly, without him even realising it.

'Since those pillars are a problem I'll just get rid of them first, and along with that the rest of the building should collapse' Calamity planned. Since he knew Athena wouldn't leave her advantage he would have to either force her out or destroy that advantage.

Flying up higher he got prepared. Unlike Aaron, he didn't have any strengths which toughen his body. He just had to rely on all the training he and Lachlan had done. 'Hopefully all that training wasn't for nothing.'

He began his dive towards the pillars. He could head straight for it, head first. As if this worked then there wouldn't be anything else Athena could do against him.

He quickly reached the pillars and smashed against them. But something which he didn't expect had happened. When he smashed into the pillars he felt something strongly resist his attack, to the point where he couldn't continue and had to recoil backwards.

But the moment he tried to do that he felt an electric shock pulse through his body. Its power was so great that it even damaged him, an electric bird. Should it have been anyone else they would have ended up being fried.

Calamity quickly flew back to assess the situation. That's when he noticed thick metal pillars within the stone pillars. He could feel the electricity flowing through them, it's power was something Calamity wouldn't be able to fight against and come out unscathed.

He had also noticed the pillar was slightly jagged. The edge of his wings had been slightly pierced. But the pain wasn't unbearable, he had hardly noticed it. Supposed it was just to do some extra damage along with the electric shock.

Calamity realised how cunning this Athena really was. She wasn't something he could fully handle without some assistance.

'If only I could control the element' Calamity hated the fact that he couldn't control lightning yet, it was something he despised. Being a lightning bird yet didn't have the ability to control lightning.

...

Back in the city, Aaron was joyfully slaughtering hundreds of thousands of beasts with its overwhelming strength. The strength of its flames burnt the beasts to a crisp, and its sharp frozen wings sliced through beasts without a problem.

'Haha, master do you see my overwhelming strength, with this strength I'll protect both you and the young mistress' Aaron said joyfully. Aaron felt his strength slowly increase ever now and then as he killed more beasts.

He felt confident in his strength, confident that he could easily beat everything on this Earth.

'Of course I can see it, and don't worry, I knew you had the ability to protect me and Sarah the moment I saw you' Lachlan replied. He was hinting towards his eyes, since the moment he saw Aaron he knew he was strong, strong enough to beat everything they've come across so far.

'Oh, I forgot to test that' Lachlan remembered he hadn't fully tested out the Emperors Aura. The only thing he knew about it was that it could suppress other beasts. As for how much it suppressed them, Lachlan didn't have a clue.

He also didn't know what suppressing them actually meant. He wasn't sure if it was a mental attack or physical attack or both.

'Suppose now's a better time then never'

...

Back on the Island, Simon was fuming as he walked in circles on the tree root in front of the huts, Chloe had just told him what Lachlan was doing. "That son of a bitch didn't tell us he was going to fight those beasts, I had long since wanted to get some revenge as well."

"Maybe he wants to test his own strength, see how far he's come since that day two years ago," Phoebe tried to calm Simon down through reasoning. She also felt like finishing what was started two years ago.

"Ha, I can still reach him and join the battle if I leave now," Simon didn't listen to Phoebe, he was too busy thinking about everything else. "That's what I'll do! If I leave now I'll be able to make it on time."

He quickly began to run and summoned Storm. Before anyone could say anything he had already flown off into the distance.

"Sigh, I'll go help him out as well," Georgia quickly summoned Kyle and flew off as well. The only ones left on the root were Maddie, Chloe, and Phoebe. Zoe and Joe were in the farmlands, helping out while the rest were busy taking care of the children.
