Kim spent the afternoon talking to Madam George. She was relieved to find out everything was okay. That day, she had wished she died. She was glad that she was shot too. Looking back, she felt really stupid, there was enough to live for. She had to live for herself. She had to find her family and most importantly, she had to be happy. She would no longer let the opinions of irrelevant people control her life.

The first would be to cut her hair. She has had enough! She must live proudly, for her sake. Not for anybody but for herself. Those things in the past was nothing but an accident. She was not and is not a jinx. She did not cause the death of her parents and she definitely did not enjoy being abused by that man. That those other children at the orphanage chose to bully her while the matron watched was not her fault either. That she was cast aside was all because of a misconception. Her ill fate could happen to anybody and it does not make her different.

These were just her thoughts. Once she stepped out of the room, she immediately held onto Carl, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, let's go home."

"Not a problem," he replied with gentle eyes. He was yet to tell her that while she was in the hospital, he had moved everything to the new house. He wasn't sure how to tell her, but this incident should be proof enough that they cannot continue to live in the red district. "Be careful," he lightly scolded, "your shoulder is not completely healed." "I know, I'm just happy." She grinned.

He couldn't help but grin too. It was so infectious. 'You're back,' he thought. He couldn't remember the last time she was genuinely happy like this. He noticed the change the few days they spent together in the hospital. He was glad she was able to laugh normally.

At first, he was scared that something would go wrong, seems his fear was all for nothing. "Actually, let's head to the saloon first. I need a hair cut." She beamed.

"Whatever you want." He said in reply. …

"Carl, what hairstyle do you prefer? I can't decide what to do. I just know I want it short." "It doesn't really matter, even if you go bald, you'll remain as beautiful." He teased.

"Why? You really want me to go bald?" She asked in a serious tone. "Do whatever you want, I'll still like it." He continued to patronize her.

She pondered for a while, "Actually, it would be the first time cutting my hair. I really envied those who could do whatever they wanted with their hair." "Then why don't you try one of those." He suggested.

"Well that's the problem, I like all of them so I can't decide what to go with first." Carl turned to the stylist, who had been invincible ever since Kim sat down, "What do you recommend?"

"If you want something short, I have a catalogue you could choose from, depending on how short you want it." The stylist finally got into sales rep mode. She had really wanted to scold them with all their PDA because she felt like a lightbulb.
