The meeting between Chamberlain and Brandon seemed simple, since Chamberlain left as quickly as he came in. Even his secretary had no idea what they talked about. Some assumed Chamberlain came to pay homage, but this  wasn't the case, the Stans held more power than the Blackwoods, so it was easily brushed aside.

Many speculated it was pleasantries for the upcoming election, to gather more supporters. Whatever the case, the whole country was aware they met behind closed doors. While some saw this as an opportunity for the Blackwoods to further expand, a few speculated it spelt doom for the Blackwood family. The Stans would probably suck them dry like they did to other companies. Was Brandon not aware of that? Of course he knew that but Chamberlain said nothing about acquisition. Besides he was not like those other companies. He even speculated that those companies the Stans acquired were used to hide laundering but they destroyed them in the end to make people assume it went under for lack of funds. Of course their targets were companies that were yet to go public. He liked the way they destroyed their tracks that was why he was willing to bet on them. They had never been accused of stealing public funds and the public assumed they used money from those companies to fund their campaigns.

The political enemies of the Stans were in doubt, if he was truly having a collaboration with the Blackwoods, why would he do that in public? Many felt he was trying to confuse them from their main target. They were both right and wrong. He did that to confuse the enemies, the Blackwoods were not the ones they were banking on. He was shifting their attention from the main target. While the son worked on the Blackwoods, the father was with their main target. By showing up at the front door, he would attract the media, his father would then have the chance to make his move. If only Brandon knew he was a cannon fodder.

Meanwhile over at State A, Carl had gotten the news of his father meeting with Chamberlain. He was indeed suspicious of their meeting especially since the election was really close. Knowing the kind of man his father was, he knew he would never agree to an acquisition so he wasn't bothered. But then, if it wasn't acquisition, what were they up to? He understood how greedy his father was so he knew Chamberlain must have made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Thinking back, he was glad both him and Ryan were male, else they would have been married off.

As he sat in Glass Security, an information came in, there was young lady living with his grandparents for a while now, ever since her arrival, Brandon would frequent the ancestral home. Seeing this Carl was surprised, disgusted and then he began laughing. Surprised because he thought Judith was the love of his father's life, disgusted because he was cheating again and finally laughed because he did not need to do anything to Judith, Karma was already at work. He simply asked his team to keep watching them. He was bewildered that Judith was unaware.

Pushing aside his family matters, he called for a meeting with the brothers and Jasper. After all, it was a new year, they needed to make new plans besides the election was drawing near. "Allan, your report on the hotels." He inquired. Allan immediately got up, passing him the report on the Hotels before starting his presentation. He talked about how renovation, customer service and advertisement helped increased the revenue. Carl looked at the report and was glad he put Allan in charge, he was really brilliant despite his background. Next up was Allen, he asked him about Glass Security. Following his brothers step, he also began his presentation, he talked about how the referral system worked and how each team were doing well. Carl nodded in acknowledgement. He had also put Jasper in charge of Glass Security but he was more in the IT department so he simply told him their shortcomings and how they had improved their security. He was also in charge of communicating between the HQ and the teams that where sent out.

After the presentation, they began talking about ways to improve the companies. Allan suggested that the teams in charge of a client should continue protecting them, if there be need in the future. It would help bring the closer to the clients, fostering a good relationship. People trust who they are familiar with, Carl approved of his idea. He really wanted to scream to Allan, 'gangster life doesn't suit you, you're home'. As for Jasper he asked for more people to help process the information they were receiving daily, he needed more IT experts. Allen wasn't really into all that, so he simply requested for better trainers and more people in preparation for the election.

Seeing them work hard, he felt more relaxed leaving the decision making process to them. He wasn't worried because they weren't trading stocks, so it was safer, they were all in the departments that suit them. He felt they didn't really need him to run the company so he left to continue his training. He would only trade stocks to help increase their revenue.
