I sat down at a table. "Man, I can't believe they offer free lunch." Jamie and Scorpio soon followed. "Of course, that's what amazes you at this school." Scorpio laughed, "You're like a Saiyan. Next thing I know you have some sort of affinity for fighting." I scratched the back of my head. "No way. Are you serious?" Jamie nodded. Scorpio laughed harder, "Sorry, it's not funny. But it is." Two more people came and sat next to me. One of them, a tall-ish blonde girl with red eyes looked at me, "And you might be?"
"Well, I might be Bill Walker, but I also might be Satan himself. It's a gamble." The other person, a guy with black hair and red eyes wearing all black, glared at me. "Well, my name's Naomi Heiwagima, and this is Akumura Orihara. If I remember correctly, we have homeroom together." Scorpio nodded, "Yeah. I remember you two. I wish I had the balls to talk so loosely about the Black Hoops like you two." Akumura shrugged, "Well, you deal with them enough and you get used to it." Jamie and I nodded, "We hear ya. We had to deal with them like, twice a week when we were back on the streets." Akumura stared at me, "I've seen you before." I shrugged, "Well, was in town a lot, if that helps. Didn't really have a choice really." He just grunted and started eating. "So, what's the relationship dynamic with you three?" Naomi pointed at Scorpio, Jamie and I, "I mean, there's gotta be something here. Which of you are dating and who's the third wheel?" Jamie's face was engulfed in red, "N-none of us are doing any of that. I mean, Bill and I just met Scorpio yesterday." Naomi started playing with a cord she pulled out of her pocket, "I see, I see. So, who's gonna be the first then?" Jamie's face got even redder. "I'm just joking. If I were to be in a relationship with the people I hang out with, well, that'd be the least healthy relationship. Period." Scorpio awkwardly laughed, "Yeah. I guess." Akumura looked at me again, "You said you're a Demon, right?" I nodded, "Why?" Naomi punched him in the shoulder, "Sorry, he's trying to see how many races he can find in this place, so far he's seen 9."
"Humans, an Angel, a Demon, Vampires, Fairies, Intelligent Animals, Faunae, a Pixie, and a sentient Rock." We all looked at him. "What?! Oh, it's the rock, isn't it. Well, it talked. I know it did." Naomi sighed, "Just, accept it. That's what I've been doing for years."
Jamie and I were walking around, "What the hell does CMBT mean?" We both looked at our schedules. "I don't know, Combat? Why'd we need to take a-" Naomi showed up from behind us, "To answer your questions, Combat, yes Combat, and just incase." I sighed, "Alright. That explains why it's in the arena."
We kept walking for 10 minutes until we finally found the Arena. For a 150 meter tall stadium, it's surprisingly hard to find. We walked in, and saw a group of people sitting on the astroturf. "Ah, so you've finally arrived. Sit down, I was just explaining what we were doing." We all sat down, confused. "As I was saying, you have been assigned a random partner for today. With them, you two will have a 'duel' of sorts, where you will display both you physical, strategical, and magical abilities. Here are the groups. Raizen and Diego, Brit and Scorpio, Bill and Akumura, Jade and Rose, Jamie and Naomi, and finally Kida and Masaomi."
I didn't really pay attention to the first fights. However, when he called Brit and Scorpio, I was interested. I'd felt this heir of power coming from both of them, they clearly knew what they were doing. "Hold this." Scorpio took off her eyepatch and handed it to me. "I- okay?" I put it in my pocket. They looked at each other, and ran toward one another. They clashed, creating wind around them. I noticed Brit changed her clothes from the dumbass Harry Potter robes to clothes you'd see in a school gym class, except she had combat boots on instead of tennis shoes. I looked at Scorpio's eyepatch. 'Why though? There's gotta be a reason.' They continued the cycle for a minute, punch, block, jump backward, run forward. That was, until Brit just stopped. I was too far away to see what happened, but Brit stood still in her tracks. "What the-" Brit then calmly walked toward Scorpio. I noticed Scorpio's eye was glowing. Before anything more could happen, Brit pulled out a stick and pointed it at Scorpio. "STUPEFY!" Scorpio flew back, and landed on the ground, leaving a small dent. "Alright, that's good!" The teacher looked at his list, "Bill Walker and Akumura Orihara!" I walked onto the field. Actually standing on it, I could tell it was at least 50 meters long.
"Don't go easy on me now." Akumura got in a fighting stance. "Oh, I don't intend to." I jumped toward him, but he met my blow with his fist, and pushed back. I looked into his eyes, they were near blood red, "So, just making sure, you're a Demon, right?" He tried to punch me in the side, but I jumped back, "Yeah. And I'm guessing you're non-human as well?" I kicked him in the shin, I felt the collision shake through my whole body. "Right on." He grabbed my arm, and threw me over his shoulder. I twisted my body and somehow managed to land back on my feet. He put his hand in his pocket for a second and swung at me. I grabbed his hand, "Really, brass knuckles?" He shrugged, "Worth a shot." I jumped back, and shot myself toward him again, this time being sure to avoid his right hand, I hit him in the stomach, then in the side, finishing with a kick on the knee. "Alright! That's enough!" I looked at Akumura, who got up like nothing happened. "Ya' know, if I weren't a vampire, that probably woulda shattered my kneecap." He laughed and walked back to where Naomi was.
