"So, it's like that" Derek thought to himself after reading numerous articles on Asperger's. As he was browsing, he saw an announcement on Matriach Lu passing and the funeral details for those who want to attend to pay their last respect. His wondered if she was doing alright.

"Greetings to earthling." Jason flicked Jess forehead when he did not get any form of response from her when he called her a few times. Thanks to the pain, Jess was pulled out from her daze. She was shocked to see an upgraded version of Jason, looking sleek and smart, and no longer messy. "Wipe your drool. Was it you who called me a beggar this morning? Do I still look like one?" She took a quick swipe at her mouth only to find no drool whatsoever. Her actions was rewarded with a deep chuckle from Jason. Jess rubbed her pained forehead, then gave him a murderous look and hissed, "Petty". "Alright. No more teasing. We haven't formally introduce ourselves yet. Where's our manners? My name is Jason Lo and assistant to Mr Derek Lee and your name please?" "Jessica Tan but call me Jess. I just graduated but I have lots of working experiences. Here is my CV and resume" Jason took the documents from her, he flipped a few pages and then he said "Impressive. Okay, let's get you settled down."

Jade was busy at Nirvana funeral parlor. She has changed into an all white plain gown. No trace of make up can be seen on her beautiful face. Her eyes were filled with sorrow instead of her usual indifferent gaze. She forced herself to interact with those who came to pay their respects. From afar, she saw her sister approaching her. As April was approaching, she saw the clear eyes started to tear at the corner. "Sister... Wu Wu Wu Wu... Mama is no longer here" wailed April as her tears now flow smoothly down. Jade sneered at her sister's act and asked, "garlic?". She really was curious if someone really could cry easily. If yes, April is really talented, maybe she should start to learn to take control of her tears and see if she can find the on and off button. "Huh?" April caught off guard with Jade's questions and even more surprised when Jade just walked away to attend to other guests.

She gritted her teeth and clenched her fist real tight till her nails were digging into her flesh. The pain reminded her she was in public. Madam Lu reminded them to act amicable to Jade in front of others and not be hasty. Just you wait for your downfall Jade... Just you wait. April chanted in her head like a mantra. April decided to join her parents and Chris who was kneeling near Matriach Lu coffin. She arrived late as she had to remove all her jewelleries, make up and nail polish. She still put on a light natural make up and added on a bit of eye bags for filial effect. She had to wear make up because she is not like Jade, a naturally stunning beauty. This thought made her even more mad at Jade.

Derek, who decided to make an appearance witnessed the exchange between the two sisters but he did not exactly knew what took place as he was too far away to hear their conversation. He was contemplating to enter the mourning hall or not, never in his life he was so indecisive. He is no longer in his dapper navy blue suit instead he was in his elegant black suit. Little did he know, his fidgeting actions was noticed by Jade. "Eh, that man.. last night, angel of death.. is here? Why is he here? Now that I see him clearly, he is such a fine looking man, god most have really spent some time on him to create such a gorgeous man. I wonder why is he here" she thought to herself and in a blink of an eye, she was already standing in front of him. Her eyes never left him, there was this force that keeps pulling her towards him, she didn't even realize that she headed towards him until she was right in front of him.

April whose eyes were on Jade, spotted Derek the moment Jade arrived in front of Derek. She was smitten by his looks and her heart was beating so fast that she had to clutch her chest to calm it down. "My first kiss did not give me such reactions" thought April. Her curiosity went up another level when she saw them stepped out of the light. She was contemplating to give a chase when she was snapped out of her trance when her mom pinched her waist. "Ouch.." April mumbled and the next moment, they were already gone. She scowled at Madam Lu, "What?" "Sh, keep your voice down, what are you doing standing there so absent minded for? Take this opportunity to show others how filial and proper you are compared to that s***" "I saw sister with a man and they left, so I was curious because I don't know him. They appear to know each other intimately" April announced intentionally trying to slander Jade's reputation.

Madam Lu, as if on cue spoke loudly as well "Sob... sob.. my fault that I did not bring her up, your Mama really pampered her that she... she.. acts so willfully. How could she have time for some guy when her Mama just passed away? April, come here, pay your respects to your Mama. With you here, at least my heart is at ease." Both other and daughter then embraced each other and started wailing loudly. Their actions caught the attention of the guests that were present. They waited patiently to see if the show would continue. Some guests were glancing at Jade and Derek while some lowered their heads when they recognised the man besides her. They decided they did not want to offend any of them, one is a demon prince and the other is an ice queen.

Jade who was standing with Derek at the end of the hallway could hear her mom and April's words clearly because it was spoken loudly. They did not leave but appeared as if they have left because of the building was structured in a way they appear hidden at a certain angle. Jade clicked her tongue is frustration and was about to step out when she felt a hand on her forearm pulling her gently "Not worth it". That sentence alone was enough to calm her anger. Lately, she finds herself in an emotional turmoil and find it difficult to control herself.

"Come with me. I want to pay my respects." With that, they stepped into the light and walked towards the ongoing drama production. He slipped her arms into the nook of his arm and held her dainty hand. His action surprised everyone in the mourning hall including himself and her. Jade decided to play along because of two reasons, one she didn't sense any hostility nor malicious intent from him and the second reason was a very simple reason, it felt good. Who would have thought that when two cold hands joined as one, it would feel so warm and provide such comfort and security. Derek was having the same thoughts.

Derek and Jade went straight to Matriach Lu coffin. He bowed three times and then offered an incense and burnt some paper money. He was about to walked off when he was stopped by Master and Madam Lu. "May I know who is this young gentleman?" Madam Lu said as she was sizing him up in her eyes. Such fine young man, impeccable taste and he appears rich and refine. Why is that bitch acquainted with him? Man like him should be better off with April.

April on the other hand was clenching her fist even harder than before when she saw them holding hands. "I came to pay my respects to Matriach Lu and give my support to Jade. I will be making a move soon" Derek decided to ignore her question but politely answer anyway. Madam Lu was controlling her anger when she realised he had ignored her question. "How did you become acquainted with our... ehem.. I mean Jade?" Master Lu can't seem to stomach the word daughter so he decided to abandon the word. Jade snickered internally, hah can't stomach to call me daughter so you abandon the word like you abandon me. Such joke.

"Jade is a special friend. Excuse me. Jade, can you send me out?" Derek emphasized on the word special and he pulled Jade along as he made his way to the exit. At the exit, she tugged his hand. "I can't leave, I need to be here because of "Shou Ling". I don't know you and don't know your motive but my sense tell me you mean no harm. I hope my sense is right. My instinct is usually 99.9% correct. I am grateful for the little revenge you carried out. My name is Jade. Nice to meet you." " Derek Lee. My name is Derek Lee. When is the funeral procession? Have you chose an auspicious date? I want to come. Can I? To be honest, I don't know if I have any motives, but one thing for sure, I mean no harm. 0121234567 my number. I know you have photographic memory. I asked my assistant to do a background check on you after our fateful encounter. I hope you don't mind."

Their conversation were interrupted by a camera flash. Their hands were still entwined together and their distance were pretty close as they were talking in hushed tones. "Thanks for coming. I will let you know the date. Are you going to deal with the reporter?" "Of course. Leave everything to me."
