Jade woke up in sweats when the jet landed. She splashed her face with cold water to calm down. The next moment, they were rushed to the military hospital. Derek just came out from surgery and had just awoken, Dr Sin entered first, while Jade freshened herself a little because she did not want Derek to see her in a mess, breaking his heart. Dr Sin came out looking gloomy. Jade's heart could not take it any longer. She started crying again losing her composure. Derek who was inside, could hear her cry, wanted to get up and give her a hug and tell her everything is going to be alright. He looked down and both his legs were attached to metal rods and wires. The pain was unbearable but his heart hurts even more hearing her cries just outside the door.
"He doesn't want you to see him in this condition, he says to wait for him to come to you, can you do that?" Dr Sin gentle voice floated to her ears. Six bodyguards immediately appeared by the door when they heard Dr Sin's words.
"Is he? He is fine? Awake? He can talk? Is he is badly injured?" Jade bombarded Dr Sin with questions. She stopped crying pitifully. Suddenly she felt angered when Dr Sin's words started to process in her brain.
"Move!!! I want to see my husband", she said not in a very loud but not very soft either. The guards refused to move. She used some moves on them but they refuse to bulge.
"Can I activate my ring now?" she asked while looking at Commander Mak.
"Can I? I need some obstructions removed immediately!!!!" she continued.
Commander Mak shook his head sadly and decided to walk away, he doesn't want to be involve in marriage couple dispute. As a man, with pride, he understood Derek's action.
Since she can't get through to anyone to get pass through the door to see him, she decided to change tactic. "Good doctor of mine, tell me, is he awake?" she asked.
Dr Sin nodded. "Can he hear me clearly, if I spoke here in my normal tone?" she asked further.
"He can." He answered quietly and left, he could not bear to witness such heart breaking scene. The person inside do not want the person outside hurt badly looking at his condition while the person outside doesn't want the person inside to feel hurt alone. He won't know what would he do if he was in Derek's shoes. He doesn't want to be in Jade's shoes either. April was already silently crying at the side watching the unfolding scene in front of her. Sister really had it tough.
Jade took a deep breath and thanked the doctor. "That is all I need, I just need him to listen to what I'm going to say", she said.
She took another deep breath, and said, "Derek Lee, you, the one inside there, how dare you put these six men out here to bully your wife? They even dare to stop me from entering to see you. Do you know? The moment I heard you were injured and there is a possibility that you might not survive, my will to live, to survive, to pull through reduced by half and if you were truly gone, then I would gladly follow."
She stopped to catch her breath and wipe away the tears that were flowing endlessly.
" I had a dream on the way here, we were in a forest, separated and I could not find you no matter what I do but I kept on searching not caring about my own well being", she paused again to catch another breath.
"It seems that you could not be found because you were hiding from me. No wonder I could not find you. I am not weak, I am sure I can handle it whatever you are hiding from me. Have you forgotten our vow?
