‘Duan Hua, tell me what’s going on,’ Da Qing Feng said. ‘Why did your wedding with Tian Ting turned into your wedding with Ming Sheng?’
Shang Duan Hua and Da Ming Sheng were nervous to tell Da Qing Feng the truth, because Da Qing Feng loved Da Tian Ting as much as he loved Da Ming Sheng.
Ning Kan chose that moment to come out of the kitchen. She was happy to tell Da Qing Feng the good news.
‘Qing Feng, don’t know that Duan Hua and Ming Sheng love each other?’ Ning Kan asked. ‘Duan Hua and Ming Sheng have been together for a long time. But Tian Ting’s the third party so they could only be together secretly. Yesterday Tian Ting found out the truth. That’s why Tian Ting didn’t come home last night.’
‘Duan Hua, is this true?’ Da Qing Feng asked.
Da Qing Feng wanted to hear Shang Duan Hua’s confession. If it was true, he didn’t approved of Shang Duan Hua’s slyness.
‘Yes,’ Shang Duan Hua said. ‘The woman I love is Ming Sheng.’
Da Ming Sheng held back her dad’s arm.
‘Duan Hua, you MF!’ Da Qin Feng cursed.
Da Qing Feng wanted to pound Shang Duan Hua’s face.
Ning Kan stood in between Da Qing Feng and Shang Duan Hua.
‘Qing Feng, you’re the MF!’ Ning Kan said. ‘Ming Sheng is your daughter. Why are you taking the side of another man’s daughter? You’re not worthy to be Ming Sheng’s father.’
‘Tian Ting is my big brother’s daughter and my niece,’ Da Qing Feng said. ‘Is it wrong for an uncle to care about his niece’s welfare? My big brother gave his blessing for Duan Hua to marry Tian Ting before big brother died. How can the three of you stand here and gang up on my dead big brother’s daughter?’
‘What era are we living in?’ Ning Kan asked. ‘Why should a dead man get to decide who Duan Hua should marry? Duan Hua hates Tian Ting. He loves Ming Sheng. It’s you and his father who are ganging up on Duan Hua to force him to marry someone he hates.’
‘Ning Kan, how can you be such an ungrateful person?’ Da Qing Feng asked. ‘Have you forgotten that we wouldn’t be where we are today without my big brother’s support?’
‘Taking care of Tian Ting for ten years is enough to repay your dead big brother,’ Ning Kan said. ‘Why won’t you let Duan Hua and Ming Sheng be together?’
Da Tian Ting could hear everyone arguing from her bedroom. She found out that it was only her and her uncle who were the last to know. But Ning Kan said one true thing, she shouldn’t get in the way of Duan Hua and Ming Sheng if they loved each other.
Da Tian Ting picked up her packed suitcase, and carried it outside her bedroom. Everyone stopped fighting, and waited for her to talk.
‘Uncle, aunt, thank you for taking care of me for ten years,’ Da Tian Ting said. ‘I’m leaving now. Duan Hua, Ming Sheng, don’t worry. I’ll attend your wedding. Who knows, I may show up to your wedding with a boyfriend.’
Da Tian Ting walked outside her uncle’s home. Her uncle’s wife stopped him from asking her to stay.
Shang Duan Hua saw Da Tian Ting leave, and he regretted his decision.
