Ketan nodded his head and then went opened all the windows before exploring the room. 'I hope that everyone will be okay.'
Leo and Carlos went downstairs. Leo slowly opened all the curtains and then went to the weapons vault or so the floor plans said. Leo opened the door and he walked inside. Inside was different weapons and a sleeping vampire. The sunlight leaked into the room and the vampire caught on fire. Leo started opening the drawers when a vampire jumped down from the ceiling.
Carlos grabbed the vampire and quickly pinned him to the ground. "I thought day walkers were supposed to be rare but it seems like I have run into so many now. I think we should keep this one for questioning. We have already killed one and had another join us."
Ketan came into the room, "Leo and Carlos you guys might want to see this." Ketan walked back to the study and open the secret door. Ketan lit the torches that were on the wall and slowly leads them down a circular path. Then they come to a huge open area where there are vampires that were kept in cages like animals. "I want you guys to know that each one that is in a cage is deranged and would do anything to kill and feast on their target. I was not sure if you needed pictures as proof but I would like to end their suffering. If you need to wait until nightfall and get a video clip we can do so but there is a strange machine to the right."
"I think you just found the first step to making the chemical. We need to see this at night time. Although, I do want to end the ex-human's suffering I do need proof that they are crazy. Are you able to seal the doorway until we are able to come back?" Leo took out his phone and snapped some pictures of what he could see. 'This is crazy. There has to be at least thirty vampires If not more.' Leo looks at the group. "Carlos, I thought about what you said earlier when we were in the weapons vault and I have to agree that yes there are quite a few day walkers but if you look here you see that there are a lot of deranged vampires. I wonder if it is because it was a daywalker that turned the vampires that there were more daywalkers?"
"That is how it would work Leo. There is usually not that many daywalkers but with the two that changed them being drywalkers that chance is increased but as you can see there have been a lot of failed attempts. I feel bad for the humans that are now trapped by their undying thirst." Ketan picked up a book and brought it to Leo.
"I understand this a little better now. It is unusual but if you look at the number of vampires here then it really is a rare thing. Do you think we will run into more like this?" Carlos looks around in disgust and notices that there is a vampire that was out of the cages but was dead asleep. He looked at the daywalker that was tied up.
"Where there is one there will be more. Ketan, there are some that are not in cages should we tie this up using the chains so that when night comes and we come back to check up on them and question them thoroughly?" Leo pulled out two more sets of chains and walked to the first vampire that was out of the cage and tied him up.
The tied-up day walker watched as they started to tie up the two sleeping vampires that were not in cages. "We were promised a good easy life. Since we are turned vampires we do not have a real say in what happens. From day one we are told to give in to our thirst. The ones like me that can stay awake have a better value to that man. I did not have the ability to turn a human into a vampire but still, the thirst does hit even me. I only kill when my hunger takes over. At one point I did not come back here but I had nowhere else to go. I was in charge of guarding this place but I am to patrol the whole property. Since you found this place there are a few more vampires in the outbuilding but they are not deranged or day walkers. I do not have a lingering attachment to the rest of the vampires here. I do like my creator and I can sense that she is still living but also that she is sad."
"Tie them up and a created vampire has a link to their creator so some of these vampires are going to lose it as I killed the other daywalker. Let me ask you, what is your purpose of staying here then. You could've run free but you chose to stay… Why?" Ketan looked at the tied up vampire.
"I was tired of living as a human but Stella turned me against her will and I thought it would not be nice to leave a lady to be all alone. I had hoped that I could take half her burden away by turning humans into vampires but when I was unable to help her out. I felt deeply saddened but I still stuck close and now that I can not feel her here. I was hoping to sneak away before Valdis returned. My name is Peter." Peter sat on the floor and no longer felt the need to fight Carlos.
Ketan looked down Peter, "You still use your human name? Oh, but if I think about it, Stella would not know that you are supposed to gift a new name to the vampires that are turned."
Leo finished tying up one of the free sleeping vampires. He wraps the chain to a post and then locks it in place. He gives Carlos a lock and walks back to Peter and looks at him. "I will have to keep you chained up but if you cooperate, I will take you to Stella afterwards."
