Now, Ozul wouldn't usually waste his time satisfying his every curiosity, but for some reason, he had the urge to check.

When he was walking towards the bush, Ozul felt weird because something kept clicking in his mind. It was the same as when his entire being starts to shout that something that belongs to him is near.

"Hmm..."

Just as he was approaching the bush, a small shadow lept out of it. Ozul was caught off guard, but he did not feel any threat from it, so it was fine.

When he focused on the ground, Ozul saw something that he didn't think would ever be possible in his life.

A small pure black cat stood in front of him. Though Ozul could see it before him, there was no sign of life whatsoever. It felt like his senses were tricking him into believing that nothing was there.

But another feeling told him that this cat before him belonged to him! Moreover, there was a special connection between him and the cat. Why?—Because for the next 10 or so minutes, the cat and Ozul just kept staring at each other's eyes.

After a few minutes, Ozul bent down and put his hand on the black cat's head.

"Your name will be Jinx."-

It was as if both of them had come to a mutual agreement. Ozul did not even need to pick the cat up, and it just started following behind him.

Ozul usually liked to walk at a normal pace, so the cat easily kept up with him. It was a strange scene on the streets when people looked at a man with a pointed hat on top followed by an eerie black cat.

Alfie did not even make any sound whatsoever all this time because of which Ozul was quite pleased with it.

When he reached the inn, it was already evening, so most people had already gone home, or were drinking their sorrows away at some bar.

The inn that Ozul stayed in also had a bar. Due to this, there was a crowd on the ground floor.

Just as he entered, his figure attracted the attention of everyone present. The drunkards started murmuring without any care in the world.

"Hey, isn't that the kid who the Silver Knights were after?..."

"Yeah. He and his party are staying here..."

"Why is that creepy cat following him..."

"Looking at it gives me the chills."

...

Naturally, Ozul did not even spare them the eye and went towards the second floor.

When he entered the room, both Raven and Blaze were alarmed because he never makes a sound whenever he walks.

And they didn't even sense any Mana, so both of them thought that some assailants had attacked.

They only calmed down after seeing his figure. However, the next moment, they again put up their guard because they saw the black cat between the feet of Ozul.

"Don't worry... she is with me,"- Ozul said while walking towards the bed. Though just as he had sat on it, Jinx jumped on his lap!

Raven and Blaze were just waiting for the cat to be thrown out by him, but what they saw next shocked them!

They could only watch with bewildered eyes when Ozul started petting the black cat. Raven was particularly jealous since she would always have to achieve something great for just a single pat from him, while this cat just needed to sit on his lap.

"It's not fair!"- Raven could not help but shout out loud.

"Hm?"

Ozul looked at Raven with a tilted head and arched eyebrows. He was wondering what had gotten into her suddenly.

"What's not fair?"

Raven was embarrassed due to her blunder and could not find any words to answer.

"Nothing?"- He again urged her to answer.

Though just as she was about to open her mouth, the trio heard the common in the building. Some incident had probably occurred on the ground floor.

Before Blaze could go and check what had happened, the door to their room burst open, and there stood Irene with a confident smile on her face.

Two lean men also wearing the same armor as Irene stood behind her, both with the same cold expressions.

Despite the two men having around the same strength as Irene, both of them respectfully stood behind her because of her status as the grandkid of their Chief Leader.

"So, you have some parchment stating that we have to follow you?"

Ozul did not look at her and kept stroking Jinx's hair as she would purr from time to time.

"Here is the Mercenary Guild's golden letter stating that you will have to follo-..."

Ozul did not let her complete the sentence and began to walk out of the door. Raven and Blaze quickly followed after as Jinx was also in between his legs.

"Wha-. Where are you going!?"

Irene yelled as the two lean men blocked the corridor by standing in front of Ozul.

"Hm? Didn't you want us to follow you back to your grandfather?"- Ozul looked at the red-haired girl as if she was an idiot.

"But! But..."- Irene did not have any words to retort since what he said was true. However, she could not tolerate his casual attitude.

When Irene had gone back to report to her grandfather, she was scolded for defying his orders. After that, she had to run all day to obtain this letter.

Any Mercenary under Gold rank would be forced to follow the contents of the letter since it was signed by the branch Guild Master.

However, all her efforts felt pointless when Ozul readily started to walk! Irene wanted to see the furious expressions on their faces, but now it appeared as if they were just playing with her.

If they were really so fine with going back with her, why did they even disagree in the first place! Irene felt like she was slapped in the face when she saw the snickering on Raven and Blaze's faces.

"You're coming, or not?"

The voice seemed to be taunting her because it stung in her chest. She gritted her teeth and started leading the trio back to where her grandfather stayed.

'Urgh! They did not even look at the letter...'
