Sprites are tiny glowing and flying creatures. They are as small as an infants palm yet they have almost identical organs as humans. It was just that instead of melanocytes (cells which secretes melanin that protects the body from UV light) they have photocytes which secretes photocytilin which is responsible for their ability to absorb and secret light.

They also have wings. The sensation and movement of the wings are processed in the parietal lobe of their cerebrum near the coronal suture, that part of the brain is referred to as Psadini area.

"you have signs of infection. There is an on-going inflammatory process in your body." Madel explained.

"Normally, the phagocytes in the body can ingest dead cells with ease. Dead cells can send chemical mediators which can start the inflammatory process. Because of phagocytes, the body functions normally without being triggered by the dead cells (cells normally dies because of the normal wear and tear in the body or in accordance to their cellular clock.) But there are times when the number of the dead cells can be overwhelming that the phagocytes cannot keep up. The dead cells which were not ingested in time then releases a signal to start the inflammatory process. " Madel continued to explain.

Looking at the sprite, Madel can easily tell that there is an inflammatory process going on in the body. The movement of molecules, atoms and microorganisms in her arm are faster implying that the sprite has a fever.

"A foreign particle entered your body and your immune system is fighting it" Madel asked while looking at her tiny arms.

A sprite is as small as an infant's palm. But for Madel who can see the seven lower dimensions it was easy to tell what was going on with the physical body of the sprite.

"My lady what does it mean?" A sprite flying near Madel's face asked.

"Please heal her my lady" Another sprite answered.

Madel had been healing the beasts, insects and creatures within the forest since she was born. It was not an easy feat for Madel who cannot utilize zhenqi and does not have any spiritual power. It was like walking around the academy to get from point a to point b, when it was just ten walk away if the straight line is taken.

While the beasts and animal inside the forest are Madel's friend, the creatures outside it are not. The sprite who is dying is included to the creatures who are not friends with Madel. However, in this desperate situation she was all they got.

They tried consulting their elders and the queen but they were not able to help. The problem was that her condition was communicable. It can be passed on to another sprite.

While sparring with Cheska, Henry caught the scene where the sprites were flying around Madel. She was looking at the table focusing on a sprite which seems to be dying.

[Why are the sprites flying around her?] Henry thought. Looking at Madel from afar with glowing sprites around her made her seem like a Celestial being. She looked mystifying even with mask and veil on.

He continued to look at her in his peripheral vision while blocking Cheska's attack. Cheska on the other hand immediately felt that his attention was drawn towards Madel.

"She touched an open wound of a Lucid Wexteria beast. The bacteria present on the surface of the wound was transferred to her skin." Madel explained.

"My lady she made sure to wash herself after we encountered the stampede of Lucid Wexteria beast. And besides how can it seep in her skin when we have tight pores?"

"it entered through her mucus membrane." Madel said.

She closed her eyes trying to remember something. She can't remember what herb can help the little sprite. She started to flick one herb after another looking at their antibacterial property. The rate at which the bacteria were multiplying was fearsome. The white blood cells, macrophage and neutrophils of the sprite which is battling against the bacteria are increasing in number in the cite of infection.

"If she is not cured immediately the battle between these organisms will also affect the healthy cells in their surroundings."

"This wisteria plant has a fulterian (nourishment for good bacteria), but because of its extreme acidity in relation to the body of the patient we will add the Resin leaf extract. We want to achieve the ample amount of acidity to protect the lining of her stomach"

Madel immediately extracted its juices, placed it in a small porcelain bottle and gave it to the sprites.

"let her drink this three times a day for 7 days. It will nourish the good bacteria in her gut to fight off infection."

She extracted another juice from Dinlaer grass.

"Drink this, it will suppress the bacteria for 1 day. Just enough time for your gut bacteria to strengthen itself."

The sprite immediately recovered after drinking the juice. They were very happy. The sprites told Madel how they tried to find cure anywhere but they failed.

"You know that any body fluids from other creatures can make you sick. Please refrain from touching your mucus membranes of any part of the face if you touched these body fluids. You can only do so once you washed your hands."

The sprites obediently nodded and flew away happily.

Henry was intelligent enough to see what happened.

[You're a fool Madel. With no clan to protect you, no money and no zhenqi you sure are brave enough to show your ability out in the open] His mood darkened immediately. It was fortunate that there was no other people around or else he would have run towards her and who knows what he would do.

Deep inside he understood Madel's secrecy and aloofness and he respected it. Behind her mask, shy demeanor and humble character he can see boundless potentials. This thought made him want to protect her. But when did he ever cared for someone or something this much?

"Other student's started to avoid us like a plague." Cheska said.

She easily picked up the signs upon setting foot in the academy. Henry looked at her and answered.

"How did your family reacted?"

"They don't have to know." she said.

"We are just waiting for our death sentence I guess." Henry gave a smile.

Shadows would not let anyone who saw their kind to live. More so for those who killed one of them.
