Helen caught him smiling. He looked at him with a mean gaze. But just as she wanted to scold him she saw his angelic smile which melted her heart for a million times. Then she remembered that he was the reason why she died as a virgin, and now, unluckily maybe she will die as an old maid again. She rolled her eyes and gave her a mocking look.
As the time flies, Henry was feeling so bored in his seat. He started to draw irregular shapes in his notebook, when he became tired he started to pinch Madels gloves, then he started pulling her hair under her veil and twirl it in his fingers. Then she would bring her hair closer to his nose and sniff it.
Francis then knew that Henry's group are odd indeed. He was shamelessly smelling her hair and to think that they are sitting in the front row. They looked like a flirting couple in broad daylight. Madel did not mind it at all. She is the only girl in class who was covered from head to toe and looked weird compared to her classmates.
Her hair is covered by veil and her nose and mouth was covered by a thin white mask. Her clothes tell that she is a very reserved lady but judging by her carefree attitude and naivety he can only judge that she is an easy prey.
Before going out of the classroom they were given a set of books to study and they were tasked to advance their cultivation. As for Madel who cannot cultivate she was given more books to study.
Francis asked them what cultivation is and how do they do it.
"First, you have to select what aspect of your life would you like to cultivate." Henry said.
"aspect of my life?" Francis asked.
Henry explained that cultivation in Planet Rosetha is divided into 3, spiritual, mental, physical. Each are further subdivided into specialties. Like tempering of physique, use of weapons and so on. There are thousands of cultivation manual to choose from. He can choose anything as long as it fits his constitution and capability.
"how do I know that the technique fits me?" Francis asked.
"That, usually the clan elders who specializes in assessing a persons constitution is in charge of that matter." Henry said.
Since Francis does not belong to any clan, he wont have anyone to help him with the cultivation technique.
"I will teach you how to cultivate." Henry said as he saw Madel's glistening eyes.
For sure the young lady would tell Francis that they could learn cultivation technique together, or even volunteer to teach Francis herself. He gave Madel a sharp look. Madel gave him a smile in return. She always felt Henry's concern and caring nature despite his harshness most of the time. In fact she feels at ease and safe around him.
Cheska gave Henry a mischievous look.
"Go get him girl." She whisphered and winked at him.
"Duh" Henry rolled his eyes and smiled at Cheska.
These conversation are quiet hard for Madel to process, making her feel that Cheska and Henry can understand each others thoughts. She is quite jealous. While they were busy conversing. Helen was busy appreciating her surroundings. The previous Helen only had her eyes for Henry and failed to see the beauty of the surroundings.
Planet Hilan, were she lived in her previous life was filled with buildings and man made structures. It was hot outside so they have to stay inside their buildings. Their food comes from neighboring planets or laboratories. They only get to see such lucious greenery when they are on a vacation or tour on another planet. The forests on Hilan are strictly guarded for the sake of maintaining the balance of nature. Not even elites can set foot on it.
"wow" Helen said. She kept on looking and touching the flowers near them. It was everywhere. There were vine with fruits hanging on it, Big and colorful flowers hanging on a vine or growing on the streets.
"Yuki, loved flowers and greenery too. I wonder what she will feel if she is here." He said to himself while watching Helen.
They walked towards the centree again. On the same place were they usually seat. Madel put out some fruits for everyone. Henry directed Francis in a spot. He flicked his finger and two chair suddenly appeared. There are still a lot of questions that was bothering Francis, but he knew that there is no need to rush.
Cheska asked Helen if they could spar with the use of spear, Helen's mastered weapon. Helen relied on her muscle memory to do the job. Her consciousness did not react as fast as her reflexes. But at least she got to keep her head intact. When they went back to eat some fruit snacks they saw Madel dozing off again with the book in her chest.
"Henry, I like that fruit" Cheska said. She pointed on the vine on top of Henry.
It had peach shaped fruit that is juicy and sweet. It only bears fruit during autum. Henry moved aside and signalled Cheska to do whatever she likes. Of course she was disappointed, but it was Henry's character. He does not spoil them.
She took her sword, jump and sliced through the air. As she touched the ground she opened her palm and two fruits landed on it. It was like a magic show for Francis, Cheska's movements were very graceful during the entire process.
"would you like to try it Helen?" Henry asked while looking at the vines.
The centree was a very large tree, its leaves are thick blocking the sunlight completely. But she can see the yellow fruits hanging on the vines. The flowers and the algae that grows under the centree emits a soft glow of light. It was the first time that Helen noticed it. There were also flying creatures which emits light.
Henry sliced in the air and two fruits dropped on his hands. But instead of giving it to Helen, he gave it to Francis. She pouted at the scene. Cheska who was anticipating if he will give it to her, laughed at the scene.
"Get your own." Henry gave her a sassy look.
