Jason was just waking up from suddenly passing out last night. A stream of light coming through his blinds landing on his extended arm. Jason jolts awake from the pain of his right arm burning up.

" Ah what the hell"

Jason looks down at his right forearm. It had a slight burn on it as if someone had quickly ran a lit match quickly across his arm. It had burnt a small mark against it. He started to closely inspect the light streaming through his window wondering how it burnt him. This should be impossible normal sunlight shouldn't be hot enough burn me like this. Jason carefully started to insert his hand into the sunlight streaming through his window. As soon as the first beam of light hit his hand it started to heat up instantly from an even heat to an uncomfortable hot to a painful burn quickly. Jason pulled his hand out of the light inspecting it closely.

"What the fuck is going on with this light"

Jason quickly reached his hand back into the light to move his drapes over so that it covered even that slight amount of light. He got up quickly after unable to sleep again after having experienced such a burn on his hand and arm. So he went to the washroom to prepare for his day and as he looked into the mirror he was shocked silent. Staring back at him was someone he was unfamiliar with. The man staring back at him could pass as a movie star with a sharp jawline with nicely defined eyebrows and his eyes originally dark brown had gotten a golden sheen to them his hair had also gained a glossy sheen to it. While he originally had been rather handsome with nice features but the man in the mirror currently was beyond handsome he could star in a movie. Jason was stunned! What had happened to change his appearance like that. He started to quickly check to make sure that was actually him making sure that there wasn't some problem with his reflection in the mirror. As Jason was still checking out his reflection his phone had started to ring the bright screen showing that it was his best friend Stephen Wallace. He had known Stephen for most of his life with them starting an unlikely friendship in kindergarten when they were fighting over markers. Jason stopped looking at the mirror and quickly grabbed his phone and answered the call.

" Hey what's up man"

" Yo Jason, are you okay man ?"

Jason was stunned did Stephen know what had happened last night otherwise why would he ask but he didn't want to say anything till he was sure.

" What do you mean am I okay? Why wouldn't I be okay?" asked Jason probing Stephen.

"Well, Anthony texted me really late last night saying someone had seen you going home really late and you seemed kind of shaken up."

Anthony had been another one of their mutual friends that Jason had known for a really long time he was the one who had finally manage to separate the two when they were fighting over the markers and ever since then he had been the peacemaker of the group. The one who always looked out for everyone.

(Hmm so it turns out that someone had actually seen me going home. I was only really paying attention when I was in the alley hiding that guy's body but I guess my awareness slipped as I was walking home.)

"Yea I'm fine Steve! Just drank a bit too much so I was kinda dizzy for a bit but I'm home and fine now dude!"

"Alright man as long as you're fine you should really watch yourself don't drink so much"

Jason snorted in disdain.

"Like you're one to talk you pound drinks down your throat faster than anyone I know! If someone has to moderate how much they were drinking it would be you!"

"Haha I guess you're right man but whatever so the guys and I are planning to go out again tonight you down to come?"

"Sure thing man lets just meet at the bar we were at last night Vervain!"

"Alright, no problem see you then."

The phone hung up just like that leaving Jason still wondering what was happening and just at that moment hunger struck him. The sensation of hunger came at him out of the blue blindsiding him. The feeling was fierce and relentless pangs of hunger roaring in his stomach begging for food begging for him to eat something he nearly collapsed due to the hunger. Jason quickly grabbed a cup of instant ramen and poured boiling water in eager to dig in as soon as the noodles softened. Those next couple of minutes were torture every second of waiting felt like centuries increasing his ever-growing sense of agony. When those minutes were up he quickly tore the lid of the thing and instantly started devouring the noodles within the cup. But as soon as those noodles touched his tongue he balked at the flavour.

(Ugh this tastes off what's wrong with this)

He quickly spit out what he just shoved forcefully into his mouth and inspected it closely.

(Nothing looks off but why does it taste so bland like I'm eating play-doh everything feels right but the taste is just off)

Confirming that there was nothing wrong with the noodle after looking through it and checking the expiry date. Jason quickly ate the noodles even though they lacked heavily in flavour. After all, beggars can't be choosers even after swallowing all the noodles without even chewing he was still starving. But as a single man living alone having cup noodles was already a luxury how could he have a stash of ingredients ready to be made into food he simply had to bear with it now as he waited around for lunch.

(Why am I still so hungry I just ate but my stomach is still demanding more)

Jason quickly took some snacks out and was eating them when he spotted the trench coat he had taken off the man last night.

(Might as well go through it to see what's in it)

Jason quickly hopped over to the coach where the coat lay and started digging into its pockets.

The first item Jason found was a gold money clip Jason quickly flipped through the cash that was attached to it.

( Woah there's at least a couple thousand dollars here. I hit it big!!!)

With the excitement of finding so much money, Jason kept on digging through the pockets only to find only 2 more things a chain with 6 rings hanging off it each ring looking exquisite.

(Woah these must be faking seeing that he's got so many of these)

Jason quickly pulls off a beautiful red ring off the chain. It had a blood red ruby set in it with runic patterns running down its side. He quickly slid it onto his left hand's middle finger. As soon as he slid it on he felt a sense of ease with it on.
