Chapter 86

With Almira shooing me away from her shop so that she can focus on her craft, I have no choice but to spend my own time. I am already bored killing mobs and I have no necessary materials to continue raising my level in Alchemy. I am also not interested in arena where PVP always happen and sometimes, bets are proposed. I am tight in money after buying the Mansion of The Magician Duke but I am also bored clearing the two dungeons, the Lesser Purgatory and Jungle of Deceit. With a sigh, I decided to drop into the headquarters. This time, I don't plan to talk to Simona or Lala. I stare into the Quest Board that I checked last time while waiting for the Pole of Weakening when I am planning to raid the Lesser Purgatory.

In my past timeline, I don't hang around in this place due to the fact that I am much more in focus to earn strength and experience to beat up the bastards on that guild. That is why, I have no time to check this place. Although I knew what the quests categories are, but I have no idea of how everything listed there and how most of them works. Now that I have time to spare, I should check this one and kill time a bit using this method.

I checked the Quest Board and this time, I saw lots of Assassination Quests and Subjugation Quests. There are Gathering Quests and Errand quests but most of them are being picked out by many players checking on the Quest Board, so those quests are pretty small in amount in the Quest Board. The Assassination Quests are a bit risky and I have no idea how strong most targets are. There are some targets that are too high leveled and will beat you up to pulp if being attacked so I crossed out that kind of quest. The Conquering Quests takes lots of my time which also got crossed out from my list. Which means my choice is narrowed to one.

I scanned the Subjugation Quests and most of them have decent rewards, some are materials for the Alchemical Processes, Blacksmithing, Brewing and other uses and a few are gold and equipment. I picked out three quests with decent rewards and higher leveled monsters around level 60 to kill.

After that, I approached the desk of Simona who is currently busy scribbling on the paper. As I put the paper into her table, she look up and saw me.

"Oh, its Bladeheart. I never expected you would get an interest into the Quest Board!" Simona said as she fixed her posture a bit.

"Nah, this is just for killing time. Almira kicked me out from her shop after taking one of my metals and used it on her own. I had no choice but wait out her results for this," I sighed.

"Haha, that is so like her, anyways, she is a good blacksmith so whatever weapon she is making right now, it is going to be a very good one, I assure you. Anyways, let's see what quests you have taken out. Wait, these quests are all Silver Ranked Quests! You are not even a Scrap Metal Warrior yet, you can't undertake this quest for now unless you raised your level to Silver Rank!" Simona exclaimed.

"Eh? There are ranks? I never heard of this!" I groaned. This is an awkward time for me on this. I should have not taken the Quest Board lightly. Embarrassed, I look down and grip my fist... "Please explain..."

"Fufu, impulsive huh, alright. Since you are a first timer, I will explain this to you."

"Players can take quests from the Quests Board anytime they wanted, however, they are limited to the rank of quests they can undertake. Gathering, Assassinations, Subjugations, Conquering and Errands are all divided into tiers."

"First would be the newbies and they are called the Scrap Metal Warriors. This level is considered as beginner and tutorial levels. Once they handled a few easy requests and raised their reputation levels, their levels rises and will ascend to Iron Warrior. Similar to the process earlier, you just need to clear a few quests before you can proceed to the next level. After the Iron would be the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Adamantite and lastly the Orichalchum, so if you want to take these quests, just raise your level. First, sign up as a Quest undertaker so that w can record your exploits! That would be 1 silver!" Simona wrapped up her explanation and grinned at me.

"Tch, so expensive. It should be around 1 copper!" I complained.

"Hmph, you don't know the system we are following. There is no point in haggling. If you want to get the license, then pay 1 silver, if not then just don't pay. Easy. Still, I don't believe you don't have the money so why haggle?" Simona held her soft hands to me, gesturing to fork out a single silver coin.

"Hais, alriiight, fork out the license..." I took out a silver coin and put it on Simona's hand.

"Wait for a while, I will process your license for a bit and we are done," Simona said and with a swing in her hands, a metal plate card appeared out of nowhere and floated down to Simona's hands. She cast a few spells since the surface of the card conjures different colors of magic circles.

"Done!" Simona hands it out to me and I look into the card. My name is on the card emblazoned into it before it disappeared. I checked my inventory and it appeared into one of the spaces for quest items.

"Just present that item to me if you want to record your exploits. Your level will also appear so you can see it anytime. Now you can officially take a quest from the board and raise your level!" Simona said and smiled again.

I sighed and decided to check the board again for Scrap metal level quests. There are lots and most of them are easy. I took around 20 different quests. Simona did not hesitate to record it out since she knew this just child's play to me.

...

I returned to the Headquarters again after a few minutes of killing and brought out the bags out from the monsters as a proof that I killed them up. Simona recorded them and she smiled at me after processing all the quests in Scrap metal level.

"Hmmm, nice work, Bladeheart. Also, congratulations since you are no longer in Scrap Metal Warrior, you are now an Iron Level Warrior!" Simona announced.

After hearing that, I once again go straight to the quest board and take a few Iron leveled quests. Simona once again issued me the quests and I happily go to the monsters and collected their parts needed for confirmation later. It did not take me a long time to reach Bronze level. It was not a lot of trouble but time consuming. Simona nodded and smiled seeing that most of the subjugation quests in the taskboard except for the higher ones are almost cleared out.

"Wow, I am impressed Bladeheart. Your proficiency is superb! Even the chief seems to have taken a liking to you!" Simona grinned.

"Heh, its nothing. Those monsters are pretty weak and they barely give me experience I need in my actual level to reach level 59. I can't wait to reach Silver level and tackle monsters in that level."

"Mmmm, someone is impatient!" Simona smiled as she record again a few of the quests from the Copper level.

Unlike the Scrap Iron and Iron tiers, it needs a few more quests to break to the Silver Tier. I took a few more quests and although their rewards are considered mediocre, I didn't dare belittle those quests.

Even though they are not related in storyline quests, this matter can still help me gain extra income. In just a few quests, I managed to gain 20 gold in just a few minutes of doing quests and although raiding a dungeon is more profitable than this, for players who are not strong enough to deal with dungeons, this method is much better indeed.

I took a lot of quests until I finally break through Silver Tier. Who would have thought I will also gain 100 Gold to reach Silver Tier. I also gained a few items useful for forging or Alchemy. I didn't even need to farm on dangerous areas just to earn them. I still have the urge to take a few more quests but when I look at the time, it was almost time to go and check what Almira is doing right now.

"Oh? Going back so soon? I thought you will be finishing this three quests?" Simona asked seeing me wrapping up everything.

"Yeah, I should have continued doing a few more quests but seeing it late already, I think its time for me to meet Almira again," I reasoned.

"I see, then go ahead, Almira hates late people, you won't hear the end of her blabbering if you end up late," Simona smiled sinisterly.

"Tch, you can't scare me Simona, who do you think I am?" I grinned and cast Teleport.
