"Jim, I'm cancelling our wedding."

Jia had just stopped sobbing when she said this but she almost could not finish her sentence as her tears summoned again to form a huge lump in her throat.

Jim pulled her closer and said, "Nonsense! Go to sleep. You're just tired."

He suddenly regretted what he had just revealed. How could he be so careless! He was supposed to throw her a sweet surprise but due to his carelessness, it ended into a bitter gourd, too difficult for her to swallow.

"I am not worthy." Her shoulders moved again as she talked in between her sobs.

"I don't deserve your sincerity, your perfect intentions and your love for me. I'm just too filthy." She turned her head up but suddenly, she could not look straight into his eyes.

"Jim, for all those years you have been with me, everything you have done were all too perfect. I don't deserve it. I betrayed you."

Jim was supposed to ask how Jian had reacted further after the father -and-son meeting. Thankfully, he did not. Or else, she would know again that he was watching her while she cried. Anybody, may it be Jia or not, would really be moved. But if Jia knew that he watched her, she would also know that he had seen that longing in her eyes...

Jia, on the other hand, felt that even marriage now would not vouch her an absolute loyalty. It was just too undeserving of him to marry a dishonest woman. Could she allow him to accept her when some part in the recesses of his mind would think that it was not him in her heart as she would walk in that aisle to forever?

While it's true and yes, it's true that she loved Anthon but he had not done a fraction of what Jim had sacrificed. She knew he was sincere, if given a chance, but unfortunately, their love story never had its space for both of them. Neither, time. It had been forfeited by fate, to which no one would be able to argue against its failures and shortcomings.

Heart, indeed, is the most deceitful part of the human anatomy. When it beats for someone, it falls out of reasons, it goes blind from the truth and most of the times, it pushes on its way erratically.

Jim looked at his watched and realized it was already time for the event to start. He looked at his crying puppy with a bleeding heart. No matter how it bit him with its fangs, the loveliness of its being itself, would never be diminished.

"Enough with your sentiments, my silly girl. No matter what your imperfections are and no matter how great is your flaw, I'm no saint myself. You are still and always be my fancy vivid pink." He hugged her once more and kissed her long on her forehead.

Jia cried even more. A forehead kiss is said to be a sign of adoration and affection. When a man kiss a woman on the forehead, it symbolizes, not only his care and respect, but most of all, his love.

And a fancy vivid pink is the world's rarest and most expensive diamond.

This man before her was just too perfect for her, perhaps, not an erring human after all. He was just too unfortunate that his heart beat for a muddy rock. Even his very own eyes were cruelly deceiving him. Instead of finding the dirt of the rock, he saw within, instead, the world's most precious gem, the pink diamond. Too pity of him.

After a slight retouch of her make up, Jia went down to one of the hotel's function rooms, together with Jim and the sleeping child on his arms.

Jim opened the door closest to the stage, and he gently ushered Jia in before they settled down on the first table from the left corner. Kuya Nap, hurriedly stood up to meet and greet them.

"Jim, you looked so tired." Kuya Nap commented after hugging him.

"I...I slept only a little on the plane after my 24- hour shift." Jim obviously was hesitant to answer him as his eyes were on Jia. He did not want to make her worry about him but the latter did not realize how much pain he had caused her.

"Then, let's go back to the room and sleep!" Jia hurriedly stood up and pulled Jim by the arm.

"Oh, my bunny, my bunny! How could you sleep in this very important event? Hold on a little more, Jia, please." Kuya Nap suddenly panicked upon seeing her.

Jim laughed. "Sweetheart, don't be so childish. Please, sit down." Jim held her waist as he pulled her back to sit down.

Kuya Nap suddenly stood up and picked Jian out from Jim's arm.

"Jim, let me hold Jian since your bigger child would likely run away if you would be so careless enough." The two brothers both laughed, especially that kuya Nap carried on his sense of humor naturally.

Jia's face suddenly turned red that she looked around, afraid that somebody else had heard them. It was so embarassing!

On the next table behind them, just about a meter away, her eyes caught on someone familiar. She looked again and suddenly exclaimed, "Giselle! "

Jim's arm was around her so he also turned to Giselle's direction. Jia's smile suddenly stopped when he saw the man beside him. Realizing that Jim was with her, she quickly composed herself and gestured for Giselle to come over.

Giselle stood up to greet her and so did Jim as he extended a hand over to shake with her. Kuya Nap, waved a hand, indicating that he could not, since Jian was in his arms.

"Sel, this is Jim, my husband. Though, I had invited you to become my maid of honor, it would be just for the ceremony. We had been living together for six years." She paused for a while then continued.

"Our son, Jian, and kuya Nap, Jim's brother."

"And sweetheart, this is Giselle, my bestfriend." Jim was so surprised how smooth was her tounge to say all those that he suddenly didn't know if he should be happy or sad. One thing was sure, he was flattered!

"Dr. Jim," Giselle first looked at Jim then to kuya Nap, "Atty. Guevarra, I'm so honored to meet you." Giselle awkwardly but gracefully carried on herself in the introduction.

"I'm invited over here by Anthon, I mean, Engr. Rodriguez." She turned to look at Anthon while she said this.

Naturally, the two men, respectfully, turned their heads to Anthon except her. All she wanted to do right at that moment was to strangle Giselle by the neck! She was such a disaster! In the first place, why were they here?

It was then that she noticed those letters in the stage that read as, "Blessing and Inauguration of Gee's Cafe and Jian's Garden".
