"Hm? Could it be..." She tapped a finger to her lower lip as she looked upwards with her eyes, looking like she was deep in thought. "...you entered to try and impress her?"

Ling Lei's head shrunk even further into his shoulders.

"Ah! I was right!" Shen Tianyu clapped her hands together and let out a little giggle. "She's such a lucky girl to have you so smitten with her. There's definitely no chance of you cheating or having a second person in your heart. That's not something all men can give to their wives."

"T-thank you..." Ling Lei thanked her in a voice as small as a mosquito, not moving his head.

"Ah. Alright, alright. I won't tease you anymore. I feel bad looking at you, if people didn't know they'd think I was bullying you." Shen Tianyu waved her hands as if in surrender.

'But that's exactly what you're doing...' Rong Jian gave a wry smile as he watched. He wasn't so insecure as to get jealous over this, and besides, the other party has a lover already so what's there to be jealous of? He merely found this amusing.

"That's right. If you have anything you want to say, just say it." Shen Tianyu relaxedly put her hands on her hips. She waited until she thought he wouldn't say anything before he finally looked up.

"Um... this lady is strange..." he mumbled, a little scared he would offend.

"Hm? Why so?"

"Well normally, you wouldn't make conversation with your opponent during a match..."

"Well normally, we'd be fighting by now." She countered.

"Ah..." He seemed to just realize that they indeed weren't crossing weapons. "That's...I'm sorry." He apologized.

"Ah no. I'm not trying to blame you or anything no need to apologize." She waved it off. "But I am curious about one other thing." The other watched her with apprehension, but kept silent as he waited for her to continue. "Why are you so scared of blood?"

Ling Lei gulped and held his halberd tighter, bringing it closer to his body as if that would protect against her questioning gaze.

"Or, the more accurate phrase should be injuring others? Ah, you don't have to answer, I'm just really curious as to your reaction during your last match." Even though she said that, she stared at the other and waited. Either for him to reject answering the question or otherwise.

"Because..." he began in a small voice that no one else could hear except them. "...I had injured someone precious to me before." Shen Tianyu widened her eyes, not at the answer, but at the fact that he actually replied. Seeing the anxious and cornered look on his face she hurried to explain.

"Ah. No, no. I was just surprised you actually answered. These kinds of things are personal so I understand if you didn't want to answer."

Ling Lei looked a fraction more relieved at her answer. "To be exact... it was actually more than one person..."

"Ah... I understand why you'd have a fear of injuring others from that...But in order to live up to expectations, you practiced cultivation, a practice that could kill thousands, anyways?"

"I'm...my mother's only son so. I, must not let her down." He hesitantly told her.

Shen Tianyu held her chin in one hand as she nodded. "The main problem about your fear, though, is that you can not control your strength, isn't it?" The other nodded at her question. "Then, all you need to do is control it." The young man stared at her weirdly. Indeed such a thing was easier said than done, especially if it was an inborn trait. However, reckless throwing around of such strength can be harmful to not only those close to the person, but the possessor of said strength themselves. Especially when their bones are still developing, they might not be able to support the immense strength that one uses.

"Here, I can help." Shen Tianyu, for the first time since the match started reached for her whip and unfurled it. "Come attack me." Ling Lei cringed a bit in fear, not of her but for her. To which she smiled and reassured. "Don't worry, I won't break that easily."

Seeing that the other was still hesitant, perhaps because of her gender and less muscly build, she changed tactics. "How about, if you don't cooperate and participate, I'll find and slash at your sweetheart?" Hearing the threat, Ling Lei's demeanor changed immediately and he quickly got into a fighting stance. "Come." At her start signal, the other charged at her.

She merely stood there as if she was just enjoying some scenery. Ling Lei didn't dare to hesitate and went straight for the kill. "First, you must not put too much strain on your body since that will affect future endeavors." She told him as she finally lashed out with her whip, wrapping it around the halberd's tip and pulling it to the side, making him miss his mark. She spun around, unfurling her whip as the halberd hit the ground, and stopped at his side as yet another crater was made in the stage.

"Second, focus your strength in your legs. Even if your arms are strong, it's no use if you can't stand your ground and get whipped off your feet." She lightly tapped his thighs with her feet, trying to get her point across.

He swung his halberd to the side, nodding at her words. "Third, and this needs the most time and practice, control the strength of your blows." She continued as she easily jumped over the halberd and landed on her feet again. "Try exerting different levels of strength to attack me." He did as he was told and struck her while conserving some of his strength. She dodged to the side and tapped the long hilt of the halberd. "Hold back more."

He did as he was told and held back more of his strength, however, she unexpectedly kicked him after doing the same thing again, resulting in him stumbling and almost falling face first on the stage. "Channel your excess strength elsewhere, such as your legs and perhaps your abdomen. Armor can only do so much, if one trains their body enough, they won't even need armor you know? Again."
