Only on the evening of the second day did they see any signs of human settlement. It was a village, relatively larger than the one they had rested in before. It was close to a town but not quite. There was an inn for travelers, only one, equipped with an open roof bath and spacious rooms. In a crowded city, inns would not be as spacious since space was more limited in a city. They then took a look around their respective rooms, which were right next to each other as they had requested before they left and went to look around the village.
"Tian'er, why did you get two rooms?" Rong Jian asked with a slight pout, he had wanted to room with his Wifey yet it was her that had asked for separate rooms.
"First off, we're not even properly engaged, much less married. Second, we're not poor so no need to skimp. Besides, when we get to the Capital, we'll both be staying at places that don't require us to pay.
