Several shichen later, there was a knock on the Master room. Then, a young, female voice sounded through the door.

"Excuse me, Master." Afterwards, the door to the room creaked open and a young girl of about 16 or so appeared behind it. She was dressed in a pink robe with pink flowers embroidered on it. She bowed her head with her handsd clasped in front of her navel and walked towards the bed.

"Master, the sisters are beginning to wake up. Manager Sung told me to tcome wake you as you requested."

A rustling sound was heard as the girl in the bed moved the blankets. A yawn was hgeard before her head popped up. She lazily sat up on the edge of the bed.

"Okay. Tell Manager Sung I'm awake. I'll be down in a bit." She yawned again.

"Yes," the maidservant bowed and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her as she did. Shen Tianyu groggily walked away from the bed toward the closet. Opening the closet door, she thought for a while about what to wear, eventually deciding on a crimson red robe with gold embroidery on the cuffs and multi-colored phoenixes. Taking the robe in her hands, she changed, for the second time that day, behind the folding screen.

When she was refreshed and awake, she walked out the room and down the stairs amidst still curious gazes, towards the conference room she was in that morning. As she expected, Sung Ming was there calculating the books and discussing with Mu Shenchou about business. So as not to disturb the couple, she quietly entered the room and sat on the sofa bench, waiting. The two turned toward her when they noticed her prescense soon after and greeted her.

"Master, you're here," Sung Ming smiled.

"Master," Mu Shenchou gave a curt greeting as he bowed respectfully.

"Of course I'm here. I'm the one that invited everyone, it would be bad manners if I woke up late." She huffed.

"Currently, only about a quarter of the courtesans have awakened from their slumber. Master could have slept in for a bit more since you are tired. Even if you're late, no one can say anything." Mu Shenchou responded.

"It's fine. I shouldn't make them wait. Anyways, I could just do some work or review some of the recent documents. I trust you guys' judgement but as the Master, I should at least know what's been going on in my Palace."

"Yes, Master," Sung Ming bowed and took some documents from the table in front of the window and handed it over to her.

"Thanks," Shen Tianyu thanked him and received the documents in her hands. Then, started to flip through them as Sung Ming went through other new documents and Mu Shenchou helped him.

After a while of paperwork, the same pink-robed servant came in again and bowed.

"Master, Manager Sung, Sir Mu, most of the courtesans are awake now."

"Oh, already? We should gather them and ask how they want to have dinner." Shen Tianyu put down her documents and started to stand up.

"Yes, yes, we should. My eyes hurt from looking at all these flowery words." Sung Ming complained as he pinched the ridge between his eyes.

"You've barely started. There are still plenty of documents to look over." Mu Shenchou retorted.

"Aw, come on, we're going to have dinner soon anyway. I can just take a break earlier."

"Now, now. There aren't that many documents, I'm sure Manager Sung can finish them by tomorrow even if we take an early break now. This amount of paperwork can't compare to 5 years ago." Shen Tianyu interrupted, glancing at the two stacks of papers on the desk that barely reached a feet high.

She then looked back at the pink-clad maid and said, "Summon the woken ones to the Lavender Hall."

"Yes," the pink servant bowed without looking up and retreated.

Mu Shenchou sighed and conceded, walking out the room with his hands clasped behind his back. Shen Tianyu and Sung Ming followed him with smiles on their faces.

After some walking, they arrived at the Lavender Hall. This was the place where most of the night activities occurred and where the pole-dancing stage was situated.

Currently, sitting on the couches and chairs were about 80 women, wearing various colors from bright to dark. Around the Hall were maidservants and guards standing around or serving the courtesan they were in charge of for the day with heartfelt smiles on their faces.
