Due to the cogent need for people, both young and old, to identify their talents, and start working on them, to fully attain their potentials in life, many attempts have been made by various writers,

poets, and keynote speakers, to tackle the issue. There are a lot of people who have their talents caged and consequently, find it difficult to come out from the cocoon. Others have visibly started using their talents, but not optimally.

This book aims at sensitising people that they have innate abilities in them; special gifts. The gift of each person is his power, if well utilised. Each person is unique and that uniqueness needs to be showcased in one way or the other. Those whose talents are still under lock need to equip themselves with the correct keys of unlocking such. This is to pave way for attaining one's full potential.

It is disturbing to note that many people have not yet realised their worth, thereby relegating themselves to the background. Anne Frank (1929-1945), a German-Jewish teenager, who wrote an amazing diary, from her hiding place during the Holocaust - the mass murder of Jews by the Nazis during the Second World War, sensitised us thus: "Everyone has inside himself a piece of good news!

The good news is that you really don't know how great you can be, how much you can love, what you can accomplish, and what your potential is!" Youths are supposed to be challenged by this quote by a mere 16 year old girl!

While x-raying the need for unlocking one's potential, which of course, is one's power, mention is made of some dangerous games people play, and which directly or indirectly affect them in the course of attaining the potentials in them. From every point of view, everyone - child or adult, is involved. The dangerous games are not, however, stated, without proffering ways of escaping from them. The various keys to unlocking one's potential are discussed here too. So, this book is for everyone, as we all have a future to hold dear to our hearts.

My experiences as an educationist and an administrator of schools are equally brought to bear, to help the reader appreciate the practical aspect of the issues raised here. They were not written by a mere observer, but a participant in the process of education. I watch, with deep concern, young talented people wasting away, due to non-commitment to the use of their talents. I strongly see with Ben Herbster, an American protestant clergyman, who was active on social issues such as civil rights, in his saying: "The greatest waste in the world is the difference between what we are and what we could become." Imagine the waste!

Every chapter is supported with a poem, originally composed and written by the author, to offer a little relaxation and fun to the reader, while going through the pages of the book. Each poem depicts the contents of the chapter where it is featured. Poems allow us to look beyond the surface, as a matter of fact. The poems here are very simple, and are a medium through which I have been able to express various notes on chapters in verse. They will, at the same time, move the reader to think deeply (I hope), open him up, and give him exciting moments, while the message is being conveyed.
