As Young Kai An walked around, he shouted for his sister.
When he passed by Little Alyssa's house, he saw that her father was huddled over something as he yelled, "YOU LITTLE BITCH!"
Worried that he might be hurting Little Alyssa again, Young Kai An was about to walk over when a bright flash blinded him temporarily. A loud rumble followed shortly thereafter.
When he opened his eyes, his sight was blurry but he saw a figure stumbled over the bridge and into the rapidly rising river.
'SPLOOSH'
"No!" Young Kai An shouted as he ran to the bridge and looked over it. Unfortunately, the current was too fast and the man's body was already gone.
While he was debating whether to get help, he heard someone crying.
"Kai Xin...Kai Xin...Wake up, please…"
He looked towards the direction of the voice and saw Little Alyssa huddled over a small body.
"If that's Alyssa... Then... "
Not willing to believe that it was her sister, he shook his head. However, an object that was near the end of the bridge caught his attention.
It was his sister's shoes.
"XIN!!!" yelled Young Kai An as he rushed over. He threw his umbrella aside as he tried to wake her up.
When she did not respond to him, he checked on her breathing.
There was no movement.
Panicked, he told Little Alyssa to call for his mother as he gave his sister CPR.
When he noticed that Little Alyssa was still there, he yelled at her, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR!"
Little Alyssa woke up from her trance and ran to find An Qi Yan. The rain was pouring down accompanied by the loud crack of thunders.
The cold rain pierced her wet skin as she ran across the slippery path.
She tripped and fell a couple of times but she did not give up. When she finally found An Qi Yan at one of the neighbor's house, she yelled out.
"Mrs. Zhen! Mrs. Zhen!"
An Qi Yan knew that something bad had happened and she immediately followed Little Alyssa to her house.
Thankfully, when she arrived, Young Kai An managed to resuscitate his sister. However, she was still unconscious.
"Kai Xin!" cried An Qi Yan as she rushed over and picked her daughter up.
"Mum! Mum! She's fine now but she wouldn't wake up and I don't know why!" said Young Kai An nervously.
An Qi Yan touched Kai Xin's body and found that it was really warm.
Even though everyone was completely soaked, her little body was still warmer than everyone else.
She picked her daughter up and ran to a neighbor's house. The neighbor agreed to lend her his car. She then told Young Kai An to go home and inform the rest.
Little Alyssa sat in the backseat of the car with Little Kai Xin while An Qi Yan drove like a maniac.
"Mummy…"
An Qi Yan glanced at the rearview mirror and saw that Little Kai Xin's eyes were half open.
"I'm cold…"
She tried to remain as calm as possible as she said, "We will arrive at the hospital soon, honey. Just hold on."
Little Alyssa kept looking at Little Kai Xin who was drifting in and out of consciousness.
She took Little Kai Xin's hand and with the hope of giving her some warmth, she kept rubbing and blowing warm air on it.
"Kai Xin…"
When they arrived at the hospital, An Qi Yan immediately carried Little Kai Xin and ran straight to the emergency ward.
The rest of the family arrived almost an hour later. By the time they arrived, Little Kai Xin was already out of the emergency ward and was placed under observation.
"Qi Yan...How is Kai Xin?" asked Grandma Zhen worriedly as she looked through the observation window.
An Qi Yan answered robotically, "The doctor said she had a high fever caused by stress and trauma. Her throat was injured so they are putting her under observation for now."
The doctor came out and informed them that Little Kai Xin would be fine but she had to stay overnight.
"Thank you, doctor," said Young Kai An as he slumped down on the seat in relief. When he saw Little Alyssa's guilt ridden face, he patted her on the head.
"She's fine now. Don't worry about it. Pretty soon, she would be jumping around like a monkey again."
An Qi Yan went into the room. Sitting next to her daughter, she sighed in relief as she took her hand. She kissed her daughter's hand and reassured her,
"Xin, mummy is here…"
Mr. Zhen who felt remorse when he saw the state his daughter was in. For the first time since his daughter was born, he apologized,
"I'm sorry, Qi Yan. I didn't know it would get this bad."
An Qi Yan nodded. However, a second later, while keeping her eyes on her daughter, she said,
"Shao Bang...Let's get a divorce."

"I'm sorry, Qi Yan. I didn't know about it," said Sima Erden with regret in his voice.
An Qi Yan shrugged, "You have already moved overseas by then and I don't see a point in telling you."
When he heard her, Sima Erden felt a sharp pain in his heart but he knew deserved it. He was the one who wanted to leave.
"When I heard about your divorce, I am really surprised."
She smiled sadly as she explained, "I can accept him being cold towards me, but what I cannot accept is his indifference towards Kai Xin."
She sighed in exasperation, "I don't understand it. Why can he be a loving father to An Xin but not Kai Xin? Even if he felt nothing for me, she is still his daughter."
Sima Erden did not know how to answer her. The three of them used to be friends and back then, Mr. Zhen was a man full of love and kindness.
He sighed as he thought what an evil creature time was.
They chatted for a long time and only went separate ways when the restaurant was about to close for the day.
While he was in a cab, he cannot help but worried about Kai Xin. He never told An Qi Yan about the other vision but he had never forgotten about it.
As he listened to the music from the radio, he thought worriedly, "3 knives of different sizes were stuck in her...Dear God, are you really that eager to take the child away?"

"Xin, mummy is here…"

"I'm sorry, Qi Yan. I didn't know it would get this bad."
