Once Sima Erden got everything ready, An Qi Yan asked him to wait for her in the foyer. She then went to DX and Kai Xin's bedroom to pack up some clothes for them. Just as she was about to walk down the stairs, she suddenly recalled something.
"Little Monkey needs some clothes too…" thought An Qi Yan as she walked into the nursery. She found a couple of organic newborn shirt and packed them up. Even though she knew that Little Monkey might not be able to wear them yet, she just wanted to do something for her little granddaughter.
Her eyes caught sight of the little bunny in the crib and she went over to pick it up. There was once when she was walking around early in the morning, she saw Kai Xin hold the bunny tightly against her chest as she mumbled something. For some reason, Kai Xin had a sad expression on that day as she looked at the little bunny.
An Qi Yan looked at the little bunny. As she felt the "Zhen" that was embroidered on the little bunny's overall, she had a feeling that there was a story here as well and it probably had something to do with the poor baby that Kai Xin had to abort.
With a sad sigh, she then carefully put the little bunny in the bag.
Once she was done packing, she asked the servants to bring it to the foyer to Sima Erden while she went to Kai An's room to talk to him.
The moment she stopped talking, Kai An expressed his intention to go as well but An Qi Yan told him to go to work instead.
"What? I'm coming with you!" said Kai An as he quickly put on his shirt. He had an early appointment with a well-known basketball player today and he was getting ready earlier when his mother suddenly came into his room. Even though he was excited about meeting his favorite player, his sister was more important than him fanboying over a stranger.
However, his mother had a different opinion. With a stern face, she said, "You have an important appointment today. That man's career depended on you! Even if you come, you can't help with anything. Go and get your work done, and then come with Naomi later… I'm sure your sister would want to see you guys there together."
Naomi Nakamura went to visit her father. She received a cryptic message from her younger sister yesterday. Apparently, sometime last night, when Rin Nakamura was trying to creep out of the house to meet Ki Hong, she overheard her father talking on the phone to someone from the army. Coupled with the fact that the whole city was under lockdown so suddenly, she thought that something major had happened.
However, when she texted her sister, Naomi Nakamura had no idea as well. She also received a message from General Nakamura telling her not to go anywhere and to either stay put at Du Mansion or go back to the Nakamura Mansion.
Worried that her father was in some kind of trouble, Naomi Nakamura went home last night. Her father's health had been bad lately and she was worried about him.
Even though Kai An was worried, she convinced him that her father would not make it hard for her to leave.
Eventually, he let her go back. No matter what, that was her family. He had sent her back to the Nakamura Mansion with the promise that he would pick her up as soon as he was done with his morning appointment.
Still unease, Kai An frowned, "But…"
An Qi Yan shook her head, "No buts… I need you to drop me and Sima Erden off at the hospital. It's not in your way but there should be enough time for you to get to work on time for your appointment… We'll be at the hospital until quite late, so you'd probably see us there later..."
She went back to the living room earlier - after she packed the food - and she saw Han Ye with his eyes closed. At first, she thought that he was thinking about something. However, when he did not reply to her when she called his name, she knew that he had fallen asleep.
She had a feeling that something major happened last night. Something else had happened other than the accident.
Thus, she left him a written message telling him to sleep and to stay there and take care of Lyle while they were out.
Kai An sighed and made a face at his mother. However, he still picked up his bag and said with a dejected voice, "Alright…"

An Qi Yan helped to wipe her daughter's hands and legs which was covered with sweat from earlier. She knew that her son-in-law was probably too overwhelmed and scared earlier to notice, but as a mother, this was the kind of thing that she would not miss.
An Qi Yan smiled as she wiped her daughter's lower legs. She remembered what a mischievous kid Kai Xin was. When Kai Xin was a very young child, she would refuse to take a shower. Even after Grandfather Zhen threatened to hit her, Kai Xin would ignore him and hide behind her brother instead.
Every time, it was only after Mr. Zhen came home from work and scolded her that she would go and take a shower.
Once she was done wiping Kai Xin's hands and legs, An Qi Yan looked at the clock on the wall. She then asked one of the nurses in the ICU, "How long has she been sleeping? It has been a while since she came out from the operating theatre right?"
The nurse glanced at the clock. It was almost 10 a.m. She then looked at Kai Xin's chart before answering An Qi Yan, "Almost 7 hours…"
"That's quite long…" murmured An Qi Yan.
Sima Erden patted her shoulders before saying, "She just came out from surgery. It's going to take her a while to wake up. Don't worry yourself too much about it."
The nurse smiled and said, "Yeah. It's common. Furthermore, she had a cardiac arrest earlier after the C-section. I won't be surprised if she slept until the late afternoon…"
"Wait, what?!" An Qi Yan gasped and turned to the nurse. No one told her about that.
