Nian Jiezhen noticed that Lu Yifeng was taking his time so she couldn't help but tried to eavesdrop on him since she was really curious. Her instinct was telling her that he was talking with someone else.
"Are you jealous?"
She heard that from Lu Yifeng. Judging from the way he talked, she could already guess that it was not his mother.
"Not safe for me?"
The amused tone in Lu Yifeng's voice was something that she rarely heard.
Nian Jiezhen's lips were stretched into a thin line. If it wasn't his mother then could it be... his girlfriend?
Since when did Lu Yifeng have a girlfriend? He was someone who was not interested in dating.
"Hey, Jiezhen, what are you doing over there?" Sara asked as she approached her.
Nian Jiezhen straightened her back before she turned to Sara, "N-nothing."
Sara smirked as she looked at how nervous her friend was. "Now, now, Ms. Nian, are you keeping something from me?"
"Keeping something from you? What should I keep?" Nian Jiezhen passed by her and went back to the dining room.
Sara followed her, "Oh come on, I'm not blind. I can see the uneasiness in your eyes, aside from that, the way you looked at your cousin. earlier, you like him don't you?"
Sara was Nian Jiezhen's friend since college and she saw the same look on her whenever she liked someone.
Nian Jiezhen sighed in defeat, "Even so, he's my cousin I can only like him secretly."
Sara rolled her eyes, "Isn't it a common thing in your country to marry your cousins?"
"I grew up here so I myself, even if I like him, find that weird."
When Nian Jiezhen saw Lu Yifeng enter, her face brightened up, "Brother Yifeng, let's eat?"
Lu Yifeng usual blank look on his face was back, "I have something to do so I won't be joining you in your dinner tonight and also, I should move somewhere else instead."
The smile on Nian Jiezhen's lips became stiff after hearing what he said, "Why?"
"I'd be troubling you if I'll be staying here. Aside from that, it would be for the best if I have my men close to me," said Lu Yifeng brightly without batting an eye.
Nian Jiezhen had always had a hard time reading Lu Yifeng even when she had already studied psychology.
"But brother, it's already late."
"Su Lei has already found a place for me to stay so you don't have to worry about me. I'll come to visit you some other time instead."
Nian Jiezhen sighed in defeat. One thing she knew, she would not be able to change Lu Yifeng's mind once he decided on something already.
In the end, Nian Jiezhen watched Lu Yifeng leave her place.

Sara didn't understand what they were talking about since they were speaking in Chinese but from the look on Nian Jiezhen's face, she knew that her offer was rejected.
She patted her back, "Sucks to be you."
Nian Jiezhen turned to her and huffed, "If you were not my friend, I would have already thrown you out of here."
Sara chuckled, "My, I'm so scared. Anyway, just forget about him. Tonight was supposed to be a girls night between us anyway. I'll be leaving to England tomorrow so bond with me instead!"

It wasn't long when Nian Jiezhen found out the truth about her beloved cousin. She invited him to have dinner in her place when her mother arrived.
She was so excited to see Lu Yifeng but when she opened her door, the first thing she saw was a cute little boy being carried by her cousin. The little boy with hazel brown hair and eyes looked like an angel. What was surprising was when that little boy resembled Lu Yifeng!
It was only until she noticed a beautiful woman, standing beside Lu Yifeng.
"I've brought my wife and son with me."
Nian Jiezhen was stupefied by his words, she felt like she was struck by a lightning and heart was crushed in an instant. Wife? Son?

"Hi auntie! My name is Lu Mello!" Little Melon reached out the bouquet of flowers to her. "For you!"
Nian Jiezhen's brow twitched but she managed to cover her uneasiness in a blink of an eye by smiling at them.
"Why, thank you, Mello." She accepted the flowers from him before she stepped on the side to give them way. "Come in, come in. You're just in time for dinner."
Lu Yifeng entered the house with his wife. He placed Little Melon down and held his hand instead.
"Brother Yifeng, you never told me that you're already married."
"I'm wearing a ring, that should be enough." Lu Yifeng's answer was simple and short.
Nian Jiezhen clenched her fists. His ring huh?
She never noticed that he was wearing his ring when he first arrived in her place. She might have realized it if he stayed longer but he left as quickly as he came.
She went in front of them and started leading them to the dinning room. Since she was walking in front of them, Lu Yifeng and Xia Meilin couldn't see how cold her eyes became.

When they entered the dining room, they saw a pretty middle-aged lady inside. She was placing the plates and utensils on the table.
"Mom, brother Yifeng is here with his family."

Xia Meilin smiled politely at her, "Good evening, madam. My name is Xia Meilin and this is my son, Lu Mello."
"My wife and son." Every time Lu Yifeng said this to others, he couldn't help but feel happy. Introducing Xia Meilin and Little Melon made him feel accomplished.
"You're married?"

"We have brought some gifts for you and your mom." Xia Meilin turned to Lu Yifeng who was carrying the shopping bags.
