Even the bedroom is big enough to fit two double beds.
"What are you making?"
"Your breakfast." he answered without lifting his attention from the pan in front of him.
His words sent a prickly sensation inside her. A touch of sweetness and grimace.
'Gosh, this man. He just knows the right words to say.'
It felt sweet to the ears. To hear and see a man preparing something for a woman. Even her ex never bothered to do this.
On the other hand, she winced because if the man continued on using this tactic on her, she might find herself falling too quickly.
'Falling fast is not bad girl.' another voice in her head sprung.
Ignoring it, she propped her hand on the granite counter and rested her head on her palm as she concentrated on his figure ---skillfully beating two eggs while adding parmesan cheese. At the same moment, he was watching a boiling pot with pasta in it and pan frying the bacon and a little amount of garlic.
In her eyes, he moved skillfully like he'd done this many times.
A few minutes later, he placed the pasta on bowl of whisked eggs, tossed the bacon, sautéed mushrooms and added a pinch of salt and pepper before using a tong to blend everything together.
Unknown to her, Li Jie had to move swiftly so that the temperature in the pasta will heat the eggs sufficiently to create a creamy sauce. At the same time, to avoid curdling the eggs when mixing them.
Then, he divided it into the two plates waiting on the counter before adding some more parmesan and ground black pepper.
The aroma of the food caused her stomach grumble. Obviously, the last time she'd eaten was yesterday in Zagreb.
A low sigh came out from her.
'This is unfair.' she lamented.
An attractive man who knows his way in the kitchen.
Despite the fact, she's unable to prepare a restaurant like meal, she loves food. She has strong penchant on trying out delicacies. But because of her illness, she had to watch everything that goes into her body.
'I might have done the mistake of agreeing to this two week cruise. If this goes on, my stomach would protrude that the dress I bought for the wedding won't fit.'

Traditional carbonara recipe from Italy---like the one her mom used to cook --- never uses garlic but surprisingly, she found it to be complimenting the firmness of pasta, creaminess of the sauce and the bitter yet nutty flavor from the cheese. The mushroom slightly subdued the unhealthy benefits of processed food like bacon as they are good source of protein and fiber. In fact, it's rich in beta glucans which are used to boost the immune system of people whose body are weakening due to combating illnesses like diabetes and cancer to name some.
