Out of everything that the voice spoke, one phrase especially caught Xenith's attention, or more clearly— It was the only thing he immediately understood from it. '...So everything that's going on is somehow related to this… this gift?'
And unlike last time's incessant ringing, this time around was a bit longer… If Xenith had understood everything he had heard clearly, then…
Slowly opening his eyes, which instinctively closed due to fear, his gaze widened towards the unbelievable scene. His mouth went wide agape at the same time…
The wind was— blowing past him… dealing absolutely nothing to him… Winds which could lift huge rocks which could tear skin just as easily, but… It seemed like there was absolutely nothing to worry about due to the skill granted by the "gift".
'Why did it suddenly decided to work now? Does it need for me to be inside a rift?' For over a month, Xenith: awakening his New Human status, did not have a single clue as to what the 'Gift of the Rift' exactly was. But today, it seems that being unlucky bore a fruitful discovery, and an amazing one at that.
"Tempest Invulnerability… what an ability…" Xenith was still in awe as he stared down at the gustiness surrounding him, completely invulnerable to the destruction around him. The boulder-shaped hatchling Roc besides him was completely invulnerable too … "What a tough little creature."
It took mere moments for the tornado-like winds to entirely sweep the area around Xenith, albeit it took way longer for the debris to clear. The dust settled revealing a nonchalant human boy and a curled-up hatchling Roc.
"Guffaw!" The baffled Griffin cackled in confusion. Glaring down at Xenith, it unhesitatingly charged once more. Surely, this little sack of flesh was not unaffected by that torrential attack just now. That would just be impossible!
The Griffin was not simply thinking about an easy prey now. This little 'worm' suddenly became a threat to its territory, and it could not just stand there and do nothing to get rid of it.
*Bang!* *Bang!*
Consecutive attacks landed directly on Xenith. Incessant pecking, seemingly like drills, resounded. Of course, unlike the wind attacks, Xenith was taking quite a bit of damage. Due to the fact that he was technically not invulnerable to sharp objects, he was still bleeding out after a few tens of strikes.
"Tsk, if I don't escape now… This time, I'm surely gonna die."
Xenith could definitely not outlast the beast's stamina, nor could he outpace its speed. He could only hope for one thing, and it suddenly came and rang just at the right time—

But, it was no time to ponder on such things… If he were to survive and escape this place, he needs to deal with the obstacles in front of him first. 'I could definitely not evade any of the attacks… But now that I am invulnerable to any of them… then— '
Xenith clenched his fist, forming what could be the most pathetic attempt a young man could ever muster of a punch, as he wildly threw said fist towards the direction of the berserk Griffin's beak.
'I need to hit the sharp part of it if I were to deal any sort of damage…'
Now that he was invulnerable against sharp objects, logically, he could use it to counterattack and not just defend. Although it was a risk for a newbie to be attempting an accurate punch, Xenith could only rely on himself for this; the gift has done enough for him to survive that it would be extremely pathetic of him to not do his part.
"Stop your cackling, you big dumb bird!"
Xenith jumped off the ground, creating pitiful airtime, yet— that was all he needed. He then wildly threw a punch toward the attacking Griffin's beak while screaming his lungs off, boosting his "morale".
It would be terrible for his stroke of unluckiness to continue and he could not land the punch. He would definitely lose more than just an arm.

A loud and crisp sound echoed!
The impact resounded all over the clear plains of the bald forest.
*Crack!*
The sharp golden beak of the gigantic Griffin shattered into tiny pieces. Pitiable cries escaped its mouth as it flailed around in all direction. "Kraaa! Kraaa!". The ground shook with stomps of its ginormous feet, creating ripples and craters on the ground.
Blood then oozed from the now beakless mouth of the Griffin. Angrily glaring at Xenith, the Griffin crazily attacked with its claws, wings, and even tail, in a frenzied attempt to kill Xenith.
"Tsk… What was I thinking? Of course, that punch wouldn't cut it."
In just mere moments, the angered Griffin caused a chaotic scene due to its frenzied state. Trees that weren't blown by the tornado attack were now being physically uprooted and thrown by its claws and limbs, rocks rumbled to and fro as the ground trembled beneath the giant beast's hysteria.
Barely evading the debris from the chaos was Xenith; who could not think of any more ways to deal with the beast but to run. Heading further towards the bare forest, he ran with all his might. "I need a way to get out of here, and fast."
Of course, he might not be killed by any more beast along his way because of the gifts, but surviving— accounting food and water— would be an entirely different story. He needs to return to Earth— if this wasn't on Earth, that is.
'I need to find a rift… find… Damn, how is that remotely possible? If only I could make one my self then— wait…" Xenith glanced back at the chasing Griffin, still dripping blood due to its injury. 'Right! This should be a rift beast… then, it should have a monster core!'
Bestial Rifts are created and opened from the energy released by either an extremely strong Rift Beast, or the combined energy from the cores of multiple lower ranked beasts.
The former idea could be Xenith's way out of here. If only he could manipulate the beast's energy somehow… But all he has is a dying beast and— 'Wait, Right! I do have another monster core with me!'
B-Grade Monster Core.
'If I could just somehow kill this Griffin and take its monster core, I could try and fuse its energy with this core and have the energy needed to open a rift… Wow, this idea sounds completely BS but I have no other way to go around this situation… I don't want to be trapped here any longer. Gramps would feel alone...'
Xenith pondered for long. He was no expert in the job of monster extermination, nor was he knowledgeable with monster cores and what not. He could only rely on his instincts for now. What better way to test the sharpness of a sword than in a sword fight.
Seeing that the Griffin would not last for long due to it losing too much blood.
Xenith stuck to the tactic of "who's going to tire out first"...

Immediately leaving the vicinity, Xin Jung strode forth towards the parked car right outside the wrecked construction site. The press incessantly followed, but the security was tough for them to be able to get any more information.

Loud clattering resounded from the distance as to where the construction site was, grabbing the attention of the press, security, and even Xin Jung who was peacefully seating in the limousine.
"Tss… Another rift is appearing?" As a 4-star New Human, Xin Jung was quite familiar with the energy emitted by a rift. "Sigh… let's just treat this as a blessing in disguise. I have reached the bottleneck for quite some time now, this might be a heaven's granted opportunity for me to become stronger and gain a much more refutable hold within the corporation."
